  1. I think I might kill for that Mapei
  2. And the SDG Circuit saddle - one ride and i bought a blue fabric replacement so I didn't have to split my butt cheeks again.
  3. My back aches just looking at that riding position
  4. I'm 180cm and got a large. More important than height thought is probably inseam and then desired reach. I don't specifically know my inseam but my BB centre to saddle height is 74cm and with the 150mm dropper I can get 74cm only if the dropper is 2mm above the saddle clamp. Any shorter and I would have had to look at the medium. I've done a 54km ride on mine so comments are limited. Coming off a 650 Anthem 1 - downhills are definitely faster and I managed to match most segments on the ups around Modderfontein, seated climbing is quite decent, without lockout on the AL there is some bob while standing. I really enjoyed the ride and I'm looking forward to pushing my skills up to match the bike.
  5. They're back photo was taken with the seller's tyres and shimano casette still on so the wheels still had to come off.
  6. Wheels upgraded on my Bianchi, stoked with how good the black rims make it look.
  7. I think you miss the point... I contacted the buyer at 20:41 on Sunday night and said I would go through at 17:00 on Monday night to view - unfortunately I do have to work , collect and pay. maybe you are trusting but i'm not EFT'ing 10k to some random person unless I can take my goods at the same time. The bike was only then paid for and sold on Wednesday. This means I was willing to go through all 3 days prior to it actually being sold. I was aggressive, I wanted to go Monday, buyer told me Wednesday was as soon as he was available, contact at 14:00 on Wednesday to get gate access details for midstream estate only to be told then that biikemarket had got it. If I hadn't messaged first he probably would have let me drive all the way to centurion without even letting me know. My issue is primarily with sellers ethics but I still take exception to the monopolisation of the secondhand market as it currently stands. I'd pay 12-13k happily for that bike as a fair markup but 68%?
  8. It's not even that I lost out - If I wasn't the first or wasn't willing to match a higher offer or wasn't able to beat someone else to the earliest viewing, I'd have no issue. It's the ethics, lack of common decency on the first sellers part and blatant over inflation of prices on the new sellers part. Read: I was the first, was willing to go through at the sellers earliest availability and would have matched a higher price. Earlier discussions revolved around economics - monopolisation and price fixing are not even allowed in a free-market capitalist economy, that's why the competition commission reviews mergers and acquisitions. Bikemarket has 51 bikes for sale in the classifieds here, that is 51 opportunities to enjoy the sport we love which some sucker is now going to have to pay 70% more to enjoy - as a community member I'd think we should take issue with being abused? Other than Cycle Lab, I don't think I've ever even seen a bike shop with 51 bikes.
  9. If no one whined on a Friday you'd have nothing to do trolling forums at 22:00 would you?
  10. To my earlier post. I've been looking for a decent bike that I could afford for my wife for the past 6 months or so. Sunday night I catch an add within 40 minutes of posting and arrange to see the seller immediately. All is planned at his earliest convenience for Wednesday night only for him to tell me at 14:00 on Wednesday that he's already sold it. Said bike was up for R10000.00 and is now on bike market listing with a healthy 68% markup - R16800.00. How long till the market realises they are ripping every single purchaser off and stops supporting them. It is impossible to get a second hand bike at a fair price at the moment with all the relisting - no wonder their stock levels are so high.
  11. Slightly different peev but I'm a tad Miff so gonna share. See ad on Sunday nightReply to add within 40 min of posting and whatsapp advertiser confirming my interest and willingness to come straight after work Monday to view and pay.Advertsiser replies and says Wednesday is a better night for him and he'll send me details on how to get into the complex on Wednesday afternoon.I message at 13:00 today to confirm viewing tonight at 17:00 only to be told the bike has just sold and will be picked up today by the buyer. Now I'm all for first come, first pay, first served but if you are available to show the bike between Sunday and Wednesday then why not give the first responder first option...
