  1. We'll also need someone who's at least built one jump before, my last was bricks and a plank about 30 years ago.
  2. Eish, this is the section I always go balls on trying to get the segment Had a ride there on Wednesday night and met the lonely sole maintenance person that to the core employs. I gave Chris a ride back to Greenstone and we got to chatting after he asked me to tell him if and where any trees had fallen down. In the end he mentioned that he checks the to the core Facebook page and I made the suggestion that that could be used for us to highlight trail needs and then he would do what he could to address them quickly. Apparently he's also just this week tried to fill the ruts and make a berm or two on the last fast single track. Lets give feedback on Facebook and see what we can do to help the guy out! Also had another thoughT to try do a community trail building day and turn last fast single track into a nice flow run with some jumps and berms.... Nice tar road for the transfer back up the hill
  3. Took me a few years but finally found and rode the ruins in Modderfontein. Immediately after this photo I rode the drop like Danny Macaskill ( in my head )
  4. My trusty YT Jeffsy filling in as a marathon bike for a 92km ride from Rietvlei to the Vaal Dam. This bike really can do everything!
  5. Stunning!
  6. I finally got everything setup on the Master Piu and took it for a 55km ride around the cradle today with the Mugg and Bean Safe Cycle ride. What a sublime ride, initially there was a little nervousness going down Broadacres at 60km/h toward the Jukskei but I put this down to a slightly different geometry and the fact that I built it myself and I kept wondering if I had tightened everything enough. The bike rolls so smoothly and absorbs road vibrations that I didn't even know could be absorbed. It's a little heavier than my 7kg C40 but climbs like it wants to and I still set a PR up Satelite Climb even though I'm far from fit at the moment. Definitely worthy of restoration!
  7. Try 2 at an equivalent
  8. Exactly, kid number two just started school so I might need one of you without these wanton burdens to take a steed
  9. The SA economy must be in the poo, 2 C40's and a Master have gone seemingly untouched in the classifieds in the past month!
  10. O.......M......G!!!!! The C50 Mapei lives again. Gonna have to take down that ad for your Boras.
  11. Just saw this now, It's looking good!!!!! How does it handle those Strada Bianchi roads?
  12. My CT1 fork needs a touch up, what are your thoughts on this. I like it.
  13. Opinions don't matter, buy a carbon, titanium, and steel Colnago. Fall in love with all of them and then keep them all - sell your other bikes.
  14. Found a German site with some great pics from inside the Colnago museum. Let' start with some Mapei goodness.
  15. Bikes and cars have to live together... a plan was made.
  16. Holy sh*t, how have I not found this in 8 years of riding modder!
  17. This they could do a lot on, hyped up their berms and jumps when they took over the place and ended up making one berm where it wasn't needed and making one jump on an uphill just after a 90 degree turn. Definitely improvement needed in this sense.
  18. What next? Tar? This is mountain biking and while I fully agree that blackjacks encroaching on the trail are no fun and lateral maintenance needs to be kept up to keep the trail clear. Expecting the trail builder to manicure a red loop for you because it is too bumpy is borderline ridiculous. Maybe road riding would be a better past time - or stick to green yellow and orange. I rode the full red loop on Sunday and the only section that really justifies a complaint is the 80m of track near the dumping site that is overgrown on both sides with blackjacks, the rest is great.
  19. EBH just won the Tour of Norway Stage - home crowd and gains the yellow race jersey. Nearly fell off his bike celebrating.
  20. First 100 miles on a mountain bike at Race To The Sun.
  21. A long dry training ride for Race to the Sun. 112km from Rietvlei to Vaal Marina.
  22. Good to know, already started chatting to him about Zabel and Mapei options.
  23. Saw and saved these too, don't know if anyone locally would have the tech to do this finish?
