  1. I always considered hitting it as a way to regain symmetry in my collarbones after breaking the left one last year. I need another scar and titanium to balance me out now. Damn OCD...
  2. Looking forward to this, proper trail management for the first time in about 5 years. (soil erosion is not trail management)
  3. I was, then I realised I'll always find a way to spend money on things I don't need for no reason while making someone else wealthier. Decided to sell my trail bike, hard tail and forego the gravel bike and instead buy a Pyga Stage that does it all well and only weights in at 11KGs. I might still get one some day, but only because I'm stupid
  4. If this is an intended close to improve things then that will be great. As much as two the core tries to make everything someone else's fault. They took our fees for years and never really justified it with the poor maintenance and general lack of actual trail management/design expertise. I did try to post something to the reserve but have had no answer, development is still a risk until they re-confirm that the reserve will be maintained. I do know from the original announcement 7 years ago when heartland sold the reserve that the current reserve is bigger than the intended reserve. They might be closing to resize it to its final state to accommodate the final development plans. Some public communications would be great.
  5. The weight on this is due to the steel fork. My C40 with a Star Carbon fork is currently sitting at 7,13kg with pedals and cages.
  6. Took my new lady for a ride, thanks Wayne 11 PRs in one go, must be the bike... or Barney as my kids are calling her.

I've got a VPN but they now geo lock you based on the card used for payment. I made the mistake last year of having a friend in France pay and got to enjoy nothing but French commentary for a year

Is DSTV doing anything other than highlights? I don't have my eurosport account atm.
  9. Just built this up for a friend, NOS Record 10 speed and Campagnolo all the way.
  10. Note to self, if it looks like a road on Garmin route plotter, it might not be a road. Tried to mix up our usual Rietvlei to Henley ride and got horribly lost along, was fun though.
  11. Try these: Rietvlei - Henley loop 85km: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1_Xng6xf0J5qDqpNS1K0hEvw1W6Dcq9UU Rand water to Vaal: https://drive.google.com/open?id=10KKoMuK0zChoahj1BNcR1i0C6oMsI2AK
  12. Every other trail park I go to that charges every rider R50 to ride the trails does a better job of maintenance. This is nothing but bad management or greedy management.
  13. Rand water around Henley on Klip and back, my new "road" riding fix.
  14. Been too quiet here...
  15. I see you upgraded your shock, how do you find the new one compared to the old Monarch R?
  16. Only $99,999.00
  17. We'll also need someone who's at least built one jump before, my last was bricks and a plank about 30 years ago.
  18. Eish, this is the section I always go balls on trying to get the segment Had a ride there on Wednesday night and met the lonely sole maintenance person that to the core employs. I gave Chris a ride back to Greenstone and we got to chatting after he asked me to tell him if and where any trees had fallen down. In the end he mentioned that he checks the to the core Facebook page and I made the suggestion that that could be used for us to highlight trail needs and then he would do what he could to address them quickly. Apparently he's also just this week tried to fill the ruts and make a berm or two on the last fast single track. Lets give feedback on Facebook and see what we can do to help the guy out! Also had another thoughT to try do a community trail building day and turn last fast single track into a nice flow run with some jumps and berms.... Nice tar road for the transfer back up the hill
  19. Took me a few years but finally found and rode the ruins in Modderfontein. Immediately after this photo I rode the drop like Danny Macaskill ( in my head )
  20. My trusty YT Jeffsy filling in as a marathon bike for a 92km ride from Rietvlei to the Vaal Dam. This bike really can do everything!
  21. Stunning!
  22. I finally got everything setup on the Master Piu and took it for a 55km ride around the cradle today with the Mugg and Bean Safe Cycle ride. What a sublime ride, initially there was a little nervousness going down Broadacres at 60km/h toward the Jukskei but I put this down to a slightly different geometry and the fact that I built it myself and I kept wondering if I had tightened everything enough. The bike rolls so smoothly and absorbs road vibrations that I didn't even know could be absorbed. It's a little heavier than my 7kg C40 but climbs like it wants to and I still set a PR up Satelite Climb even though I'm far from fit at the moment. Definitely worthy of restoration!
  23. Try 2 at an equivalent
  24. Exactly, kid number two just started school so I might need one of you without these wanton burdens to take a steed
  25. The SA economy must be in the poo, 2 C40's and a Master have gone seemingly untouched in the classifieds in the past month!
