  1. O.......M......G!!!!! The C50 Mapei lives again. Gonna have to take down that ad for your Boras.
  2. Just saw this now, It's looking good!!!!! How does it handle those Strada Bianchi roads?
  3. Jeffsy even allows Lycra
  4. My Jeffsy gets pimped for everything. Slack and fun for the trails I can get hold of in JHB and light and "Fast" when I need a marathon bike. 2 months ago I rode race to the sun with a colleague and client. Not having an XC option for the race and knowing that my partners where using an XC bike and a full rigid Zaskar 26" weighing under 9kg I knew I had to make a plan. Out came the Spez Renegade tyres, the spare Ryder seatpost and a seatpost mounted bottle cage. We did 167km at 25.2km/h and Jeffsy surprised me the whole way... and made me thankful I wasn't riding a bloody rigid on the 20km corrugated section! Once home I put the dropper back in, switched the Nobby Nics back on and popped off to break some bones at Rietvlei. The only problem I have with Jeffsy is that I'm getting old and my body is starting to disagree with my personal mantra that if you are not falling you are not learning.
  5. My CT1 fork needs a touch up, what are your thoughts on this. I like it.
  6. Opinions don't matter, buy a carbon, titanium, and steel Colnago. Fall in love with all of them and then keep them all - sell your other bikes.
  7. Mint means that if I buy it, I should not want to ride it in case I do something that would make it look like my should after the surgeon tried to put 4 pieces of bone back together. For clarity: If Ernesto himself wouldn't ship it to me as "new" then it is not "mint".
  8. Found a German site with some great pics from inside the Colnago museum. Let' start with some Mapei goodness.
  9. Bikes and cars have to live together... a plan was made.
  10. Holy sh*t, how have I not found this in 8 years of riding modder!
  11. This they could do a lot on, hyped up their berms and jumps when they took over the place and ended up making one berm where it wasn't needed and making one jump on an uphill just after a 90 degree turn. Definitely improvement needed in this sense.
  12. What next? Tar? This is mountain biking and while I fully agree that blackjacks encroaching on the trail are no fun and lateral maintenance needs to be kept up to keep the trail clear. Expecting the trail builder to manicure a red loop for you because it is too bumpy is borderline ridiculous. Maybe road riding would be a better past time - or stick to green yellow and orange. I rode the full red loop on Sunday and the only section that really justifies a complaint is the 80m of track near the dumping site that is overgrown on both sides with blackjacks, the rest is great.
  13. EBH just won the Tour of Norway Stage - home crowd and gains the yellow race jersey. Nearly fell off his bike celebrating.
  14. If anyone has it, please post a link to where to find the photos that were taken.
  15. WTF! There were free burgers... I'm going back to Sun City to fetch mine All in all I really enjoyed the race. Had an unexpectedly good ride and managed to average 25km/h when I struggled to hold 20km/h on a training ride to the Vaal Dam last weekend. Comms could be better but organisation wasn't bad. Only gripe with the water points was the total lack of any protein - I need boerewors to keep me going (or is that just a berg and bush thing?).
  16. First 100 miles on a mountain bike at Race To The Sun.
  17. A long dry training ride for Race to the Sun. 112km from Rietvlei to Vaal Marina.
  18. Brutal corrugation concerns me greatly... how long were these section in terms of the total route?
  19. Good to know, already started chatting to him about Zabel and Mapei options.
  20. Out of interest, anyone know who did the paint on this? Not a massive fan of the plain black but quite impressed with the way they integrated the white logos into the paint job - silky smooth!
  21. Saw and saved these too, don't know if anyone locally would have the tech to do this finish?
  22. Wow that is light! I'd have a 6.7kg C40 with those.
  23. That Shine!
