  1. Tx guys. I have (finally) managed to reproduce and fix some of the "disappearing intervals" bugs: 1. The interval detection code nukes short intervals that are also low intensity or few in number. If you only have a couple of 10s sprints in a ride it doesn't consider them intervals. This has been disabled when editing. So hitting 'A' on a low power section of your ride would often do nothing. Ditto for a high power section unless you already had some similar intervals. 2. Changing w_prime, ftp etc would lose manual interval edits. This has been fixed.
  2. This is where all the new users came from: Alex from www.fastfitness.tips found Intervals.icu and really liked it.
  3. Strava have just drastically bumped up my rate limits! So things should be much better now and I can get on with fixing editing intervals and squashing other bugs.
  4. I have implemented a queuing system for new users. If anyone has any problems signing up please let me know. This should sort out the rate limit issues. Hopefully new users are still interested when they are activated!
  5. That refers to the power vs HR model and isn't something you want to improve. If the model fit is bad then probably you shouldn't pay much attention to what that chart is saying. The chart and associated stats are useful for long endurance rides to help answer the question "do I need to do more aerobic training". If the model is good for a 3-4 hour endurance ride and you have high decoupling %, then supposedly you need to do more of those. I am still working on power vs HR to build better models and hopefully decide automatically when to hide it.
  6. Announcement I just sent to all users I have emails for: Intervals.icu has had an influx of new users (thanks to Alex from www.fastfitness.tips) and has been hitting Strava API rate limits, causing poor performance and failure to pickup new activities automatically. I have asked Strava for higher limits and am implementing a queuing system for new users. With any luck this will restore performance and still allow new users to sign-up.
  7. I bunch of new users have been signing up so Intervals.icu has been hitting Strava rate limits. These reset at midnight UTC.
  8. I have been doing some work looking into the relationship between power and heartrate. Intervals.icu now includes a power vs HR chart for rides with power and heartrate. You can use the de-coupling % on an endurance ride to figure out if you have done enough aerobic riding. But be careful because this is heavily influenced by hydration levels, temperature, time of day etc.. I am going to be adding "Power @150 bpm" as a line on the fitness chart soon.
  9. Unfortunately I haven't been able to reproduce the issues with editing intervals. If you guys can figure out how to reproduce the bug please drop me a mail.
  10. I will be looking into this shortly. Tx guys.
  11. Tx. The 'A' key should work. I don't see any errors related to that in the logs. You can also click the "Add interval" button. It should add a short interval at the marker position, then you can drag the edges to resize it. If you drag one edge over the other it will be deleted. What Browser and OS are you using? I could add an option to add intervals to match laps recorded using the lap button for your use-case? Do you mind PMing me a link to the activity so I can have a look?
  12. I have just added support for editing training load (TSS), both for an individual activity and on the activity spreadsheet view. Intervals.icu automatically calculates training load for rides with power and for activities with heart rate given some prior power rides to build a model from. However if you have none of that or half a power file or something you can now fill in your own estimate.
  13. Intervals.icu now supports showing your activities in a list or table instead of the default calendar. You can edit the FTP, weight and W' fields for each activity on the table. Useful for bulk fixing up old activities and so on. @Rossw: Yes the W' value displayed on that chart is calculated and one of the inputs to the power model.
  14. Look what I have at home! The more you ride the more beer you can brew and drink! The one labeled Castle Lite dispenses soda water.
  15. That site is using Monod & Scherrer's 2 parameter critical power model which is also supported in Intervals.icu. You can select that model using the options drop down on the power page. However I find that the default model (Morton's 3 parameter) usually gets better results. If you enable the "Power Curves" checkbox you can see what the model looks like. I am not sure why nothing is showing up for the 42d curve for you. I will have a look tonight. I agree that 33k is likely way too high. Most people are in the 20's. I have read that you need to do the max efforts (5s, 3m and say 12m) within a week or so and they all really need to be proper all-out to get good data from these models.
  16. I didn't implement copying W' over existing activities without it. I was a bit worried about people not really knowing what it is, putting in a random value. With FTP most people know what that is about. But maybe I should make that change. Will do tonight. I am going to add spreadsheet style editing of FTP and W' for activities in bulk soon for fixing up history.
  17. Intervals.icu now supports capturing W' or anaerobic work capacity. You can set your value in Joules in settings and the current value is assigned to and can be edited for each ride. This supposed to model how much work in Joules you can do above FTP (well critical power really) before blowing up. 10 seconds at 400w is 4000 J of work, its as simple as that. When you are riding below FTP you recover capacity. You can add a "W'bal" chart to the ride timeline to see this in action. This shows how much of your W' is remaining when you go over FTP. The green chart below shows the W'bal for one of my rides. I did a decent effort up Kloof Nek and it goes below zero. This indicates that my FTP or W' might have gone up. Pity I was a bit fat at the time or I might have got a PR. You can get an estimate of your W' from the power section. However it is quite sensitive to the inputs so you really do need real maximum 5s, 3m and 10m+ efforts to get good data.
  18. Yes you are. You probably just need to reload the app. The "Edit Data" button should be to the left of "Add Interval".
  19. I have added support for editing ride data. Look for the "Edit Data" button under the main activity timeline charts. This is useful to fix power and heartrate spikes. Note that Intervals.icu automatically compensates for drop outs and suspicious zeros in power data so you generally don't need to fix those.
  20. Yep. If its cancelled I am just going to keep riding even if they tell us to stop at the end of the blue route. I am sure most people in the front groups will do the same. Everyone in those groups can stay upright in wind.
  21. Tx for the bug report and compliments! The legend now goes under the chart if there isn't enough space on the chart itself. If I put on on the right it gets in the way of moving the marker. I am doing quite a bit of bug fixing at the moment. I added some instrumentation to notify me of client side errors and there are a few!
  22. This has been a fun thread to follow even though I skipped the race! "A" group (and even more so $) has large range of abilities from the Hartlief guys with enough power to ride 2 off the front for the whole race (at better than 40km/h avg!), almost as good guys like devocean, to a lot of mid pack people like me. I know I don't have enough 10min+ w/kg to make the front bunch on Vissershoek or survive a long stretch of guttering. I can get over rollers and close small gaps in the bunch, help chase back a bit after a split, thats about it. So its always going to be a few guys at the very pointy end making the racing.
  23. I was undecided about this one, not being able to pre-enter has likely made my mind up. Closing pre-entires on Monday for a normal (i.e. not huge) road ride on the Sunday seems a bit quick and earlier than usual. Anyone know why?
  24. I think I have fixed the bug. Please give it a try. Recent Strava activity IDs no longer fit into a 32 bit int and I had made that mistake in a few places. That means that Strava probably have in excess of 2 billion activities stored!
  25. Tx for the report. I will be able to have a look at this tomorrow morning. In the mean while you could try "Sync with Strava" for that activity. That might well sort things out.
