  1. Alizee, yeah baby put me on that list. Specialised will never see a dime of my money. Pity NeilPryde doesn't want to take them on but having been involved in other sports where they market products its just not their corporate style.
  2. there are different weaves o carbon fibre. http://calfeedesign....f-carbon-fiber/ and http://www.yoeleo.com/weave Plus these are available in Plain or twill weaves. Each distributes load differentlyand are laid up on different bias compared to the other
  3. Chaps, A real Dogma wit Super Record EPS and Lightweight Meilenstein wheels will set you back just shy of R200K!!! http://www.sigmasport.co.uk/item/Pinarello/Dogma-651-Think2-Super-Record-EPS-Road-Bike/24SG?wmp=241
  4. yes but it provides the best consistency of all the units. If I simply had to have a power meter on my bike again I would go for a crank based system, but the IDT simply can't be beat for consistency.
  5. problem for Pina is that they would have to defend their copyright in many countries. Becomes expensive and they would have done this already. They place a serial number on frames that meets their standards for the frame, they distribute those frames globally via distributors they appointed. They also make the market aware of the problems surrounding fakes. Thats a lot of work already. Going after a factoryin China is going to prove impossible. Just ask BMW GmbH.
  6. Doesn't really solve anything as the real problem is the continuous supply of the "fake" frames and components. Pinarello can nail the shop for brand copyright infringement, put them out of business but there's probably 10 more shops out there doing the same thing. Making an example of one is a deterrent but the problem real problem lies with the endless supply of people who will knowingly buy a fake because its a cheap way to look a certain part.
  7. IMO the Giant is better quality and better value for money. Specialized bikes will b built by Giant in 2015. Must be a reason..
  8. I agree, but a degree of honesty from the retailer is required...
  9. Indeed it should be awesome experience. In 2010 I Order my dream bike from Mr.LOOK, a 585 Optimum. I liked the classic LOOK, I liked the geometry, even had my finger on order with Van NIcolas for a full custom I designed myself, but thansk to their dithering I found that the 585 Optimum had very similar geometry that I as after. I spome directly to Mr.LOOK and nominated my LBS (who was a bit reluctant to sell me anything other than a Spec.....). MR LOOK informed it would take about3-4months for my fram to arrive, would I mind riding his bike till I received mine...!???? Heck ok I was expecting a older machine, instead he lone me his 595! My frameset arrived about 3.5months later and I assembled it myself. Thats what the experience should be like. On Surround Sound, I once sat in the Praalder, Theresiastraat (Den Haag) for an entire Saturday listening to various combo's.Not once did the salesman loose patience. Even ordered coffee and sandwiches while we played. I walked out with a full set of Mordaunt Short Declaration speakers and NAD AV kit. There is good honest service in the world, just not at CS.
  10. While bike manufacturers continue to seek cheap labour in China and top dollar on the retail floor, rejects will continue to filter out of the side doors of those factories. If anyone thinks a Chinese factory destroys its salable rejects they're living in lala land. They throw nothing away that has value and rejects do have value.
  11. and hackers see it as a right of passage to call themselves mountain bikers. Fact is it is just a very well organised, televised and marketed events that has created an appeal that justifies very high entry fees. Kind of like that exclusive night club that still sells Black Label but has a few more neon coloured lights than other clubs. If it wasn't well run it would not be seeing its 12th edition in 2015
  12. I think the OP was a class monitor in junior school
  13. So with all the massaging this thread took, will there be a happy ending?
  14. big reason why Specializedis moving production to Taiwan this year for next years models. More control over what happens with their moulds
  15. Its a bit like whenever there is a massive petrol price hike or something goes wrong in the petroleum industry the media films in front of a Shell branded service station even if the matter has nothing to do with Shell. Its also likely they interviewed someone at CL for insight into the problem. There are few store that carry as much stock as CL and therefore a good story can be created without having to travel very far.
  16. I understand the intent of the article. Everytime there is a death people have a tendency to consider if an activity is too dangerous. This is natural. The TMBC response is also the correct one. Signs will help those who know what they mean. This means more work for all involved but if nothing is done then the club and land owners open themselves to litigation. Condolences to his wife and child. I woudl certainly not like to leave my family behind and loose the opportunity to see my daughters grow up. The article is one sided for a purpose and I am sympathetic and empathetic to that purpose.
  17. check the parts listing at Shimano-europe http://cycle.shimano-eu.com/media/techdocs/content/cycle/EV/bikecomponents/SL/EV-SL-M670-3409_v1_m56577569830800253.pdf and ispec http://cycle.shimano-eu.com/media/techdocs/content/cycle/EV/bikecomponents/SL/EV-SL-M670I-3408_v1_m56577569830800254.pdf seems possible but more than just a cover. the central bolt holding everything together in the shifter may need to b replaced too
  18. I had to supply serial number and copy of invoice to my insurer
  19. So I LOOKed into these and all the TIME i spent I could not find a functional difference between the S_Track and ATAC. The replacable external and nternal parts is a nice feature but looking at those bits its unlikely any of those will suffer massive damage unless they are being use for aggressive trail riding I ama interested in a set but they seem to have similar platform size to the Eggbeaters
  20. You seem to have forgotten the fake wheels the bike is supposed to roll on ...
