    2020 Ibis Ripley

Damn I miss my following ???? best all round bike I have owned.Like Mr D said 120/130 perfect ????????. For me personally preferred it to my offering .
  2. Strongs Mate ... we all just keep at it regardless. I have had a turbulent 16 months and my fitness or lack of it mostly makes it tough more often than not. But it’s about the freedom 2 wheels that keeps most of going . But when got that love for it you solid Always keen to join you from a ride if you Alberton way .
  3. Yea but do you ride solo? I do 80 % of the time and probably 90 % on my road bike . It’s a fair bit tougher Hans solo for a few of reasons. No more so than getting a little respite, but that’s not the only reason . Mentally it can be tough to be out there alone for hours on end with no chit chat to break the monotony of talking to yourself . When it gets proper tough like last wkd in the wind to keep to the route you planned . Etc etc ..... The advantage is when you ride in a group albeit a race or just training ride you can up your avg speed for not to much extra effort . Within reason of course . Keep going you will get there. Staying motivated is another difficultly when you not letting anyone down but yourself . Good luck Oh and i’m also crap at getting up early ,hence my solo stints .
  4. Good point, never really thought about that, haven’t run 2.2 in forever. 2.35 is my go to tyre size on the rear generally . What tyre clearance does the stage have ?
  5. Its the real world feel & experience from us amateurs that counts 100 fold more than the science and bs !
  6. Thats interesting mate, I would of thought the primer would of inspired slightly more confidence. I do like the rough tech stuff as well as being able to do outrides with mates on marathon type machines . Your bike wasn’t even the stage max, have you ridden one for comparison. I also have boost wheels and fork . But am prepared to forgo that in search of the one bike that suits my needs. My marathon bike has standard non boost so at least I have a set . The stage/max & primer seem the best options and value for money at this point as i have to make 2 become one ....that ???? ride . As for lusting after a ride ,wish I had kept that in mind when buying my road bike ☹️
  7. That’s exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for, appreciate the reply As for build quality on the primer & stage max and easy of home maintenance?
  8. Really didn’t know the 110’s were great sellers . I thought Aluminium bike’s wouldn’t be so sought after ,how wrong was i. Or maybe it’s just the 110’s .
  9. How comparable is the stage max to the intense primer .....not the 2020 version .
  10. There was a sweet 110 advertised here on Saturday for R30k ...that’s what got me thinking about the 110.
  11. I would set up either more robust as well. With wide bars, short stem and Dropper etc etc. I think the weight of the 110 is it’s only downside ?
  12. What is the biggest difference between the 110 & the stage besides travel ? What are the biggest ride characteristic differences? How much heavier is the 110 over the stage or max? How do pedal efficiency and single track fun differ ? What bike if any do either of them compare to ?
  13. Yea great to chat. My kids were so chuffed someone other than there old man said it’s great to see kids riding and doing so well ????
  14. Then a late sundowner with the kids at thaba ....They love seeing the animals and being in the open. They scared me a few times with there lack of fear ( especially him) but they just do it . I try teach them the basics at home and not to panic and keep your head up. Sure I closed my eyes a few times watching them ????
  15. Last wkd at Rietvlei with a mate and his daughters. She has just taken of her training wheels and she loved every minute of it .
  16. Lots ????Will give that a try.
  17. Thats brilliant mate, love doing boy stuff with my son (have 3 girls as well) .Have been doing the same thing but with not as much success. This all happened after telling my nipper that I used to be called Evel Knievel as a kid, although crash Banditcoot ( if he was around that is )would of been more apt. Mum couldn’t watch ???? . Now he wants a bmx ,Hell yeah! https://vimeo.com/439173554
  18. So nice and green-great view,cracking photo ????????
  19. Can do a link to strava ...no idea how to do a route map
  20. A lot more of that.....first ride with the flared drop bars double wrapped, beaut ???? Steel is real ????
  21. Or that you are just unemployed .
  22. Home by midday is not a midday ride, huge difference, massive ???????? including a stop at lbs for a small gear adjustment ???????? ...almost makes it morning mate ????
  23. A bit of this & a bit of that ????
  24. Wouldn’t mind a little fast flowing single track . Will have to make a trip out there soon ????????
  25. The pirelli cinturato hard tyres are a great choice . Quick rolling and enough grip and Cush. As for the flared bar, what about a curve walmer bar.
