  1. Have learnt to stand for about 30 seconds to relieve the butt ache.... I just put in it a hard gear, clench my gut and concentrate on my pedal stroke for about 30 seconds ???? without death strangling the bars . Not sure about the crunches and sit ups though.....kudos ????
  2. Absolutely agree 1000%...... but that’s the best part of the rollers,I think time doesn’t quite drag as slowly . Coz gawd knows cycling and going nowhere is a bit tedious to say the least . I may even buy my own set after lockdown ????
  3. Thats some good core balance there mate... only on my 4th ride or so but certainly wouldn’t dare do no hands, would have no teeth . Today managed to stand for about 15 seconds to relieve my Crown Jewels....But was a tad wobbly to say the least . Could feel my core got a workout today as well. Would guess mnt bike tyres would make a proper racket.....the gravel tyres were loud enough that my missus could hear me downstairs. Rollers definitely make you concentrate more .
  4. I would say easier as far as balancing goes . I tried my gravel bike with 42mm Sawtooth tyres, definitely easier than my road tyres. Does feel like it requires more effort due to the contact patch, I think . But, gravel tyres are to noisy .
  5. Bloody hell thats brilliant ....and that song
  6. Never heard that saying before. It does go down better than ever when you knackered ????????
  7. It must be slightly matchy matchy ......that’s a Telkom pole ????
  8. Damn,me ???? dat Niner .... and this one⬇️
  9. Haven’t tried the wider bars ( don’t personally like the look of them ) so cant say. But have the same itm bars as on my road bike. I like the hand cut out on the bars. Never considered going wider really.
  10. Some only need bmx gearing,so i’ve been told . Not sure it’s a true story though.
  11. Ma se hare ????????????????????..... haven’t heard that in ages .Thanks dude, stoked on that steel steed ????????
  12. NSBB has turned his merida big nine in to a monster cross / gravel / go anywhere do anything bike ....
  13. This thread made me take my gravel bike in road trim down here today ..... damn it was fast . Luckily no punctures . Although having the panaracer gravelking 32’s on,is not exactly a full on road tyre like the schwalbe pro ones . But it certainly ain’t a gravel tyre for anything other than flat dirt roads (well for me at least )but it held up just fine and hauled along at some pace ....awesome fun ???????? Another string to the niners bow ✊????
  14. My Niner has doubled up as my road bike for the last 10 months . I do have a road bike but having been in the uk for the last 10 months it just makes sense . The 1x is at times a little difficult to find the perfect gear but I just spin more and save my legs. Have road specific wheels & tyres as well as gravel. The rlt in sa is brilliant . If mostly gravel 42 sawtooth, brilliant to absorb some of the bumps. Half road half gravel spaz trigger 38’s, so much quicker . And really a great all round Tyre , probably my fav gravel Tyre . I ride my gravel bike more than any other bike and have now owned it for a year. By my standards that’s a fair bit of time. And it ain’t going anywhere . Fav bike ever ...Built it from the frame up and there’s nothing i would considering changing unless going 2 x & getting rid of my road bike permanently . 2nd last pic exploring jhb south early last year ...last pic walkerville road route. So are they versatile,Absolutely if you not racing . As for the adventure factor, not sure they beatable .
  15. Thaba can be very humbling. Regardless of fitness, skill or the amount of times you ride there . Love it ????????
  16. So Back country looking ????
  17. really like those tunnel pics ????????...... makes you want to ride the roller coaster ????
  18. flippin awesome ????????
  19. Have just flown with emirates again now, this time took my steel bike though . Everything was ok . But followed the advice of Duane Bosch I think it was and used 6 rolls of gorilla tape (here in uk) to reinforce the box . Damn that tape it difficult to cut with even a knife. Also packed pillows on top and sides of the box before closing it . Plus bubble wrap with cardboard folded over . Buy the best duct tape ( thickest ) and cover all corners top and bottom and through the middle a fair width were the carry handles are . It worked out just fine ,repacking will be a nightmare but so worth it .
  20. Snow where ❄️❄️
  21. Out for a run... IPhone 6.....
  22. Thanks dude,so versatile and bullet proof.
  23. The sun showed it’s face today,so took the RLT to do some roadie km’s in the hills of our local village. Been itching to try out my road wheels with 32 panaracers ,way better than the sawtooth’s for road duty. Our village Christmas tree ????????
  24. That’s quite disgusting that they can destroy a bag,but I completely believe they can.
