Wonderful, sounds as beautiful a ride as I expect when I move to JHB next year Thanks for the heads up. We had a sand section around 115km mark in my race yesterday near the end and i almost had SOH failure. Also: we had the Clanwilliam dam and lush mountains. Ahhhh my riding life as I know it feels like it is coming to an end!

Awesome then that is what I am going to do on my borrowed 26er, decided! Unless someone else has a 29er for me. Did a 118km dirt roadie race in Cederberg today so am feeling prepared to tackle 80km with altitude. Boyf is doing the ultra, sniff. Fly all the way from Cape Town to Jozi for the weekend to race on my ace. I think the boy is scared I might be gaining on him.

Yay just managed a sub six. Dropped the guys and girls i rode most of the race with like a sack of potatoes in the last 10-15km. New Garmin Edge 500 worked a charm, I got 1425m climb. Going to make Karoo2Coast a breeze. also: we found something in the parking lot. its got something to do with bikes. If you lost it. msg copperhead or myself. Copper: Oops sorry only got the memo about leaving my fav kit at home now. Thanks to the two lurker Hub guys that greeted me, the ones who dont have usernames.

I am so excited I might not sleep. I am getting my Garmin Edge 500 this evening and then I have to do an hour on the IDT to get the legs ready. Get a road bike. Riding a mountain bike on the road, even with slicks, sucks.

How did everyone's weekend and ride go? Had a lekker time, 5th lady home on Sat and 3rd lady home today. Yeh its not a race but short distance so had to give it gas.

ooooh so 775m climbing for the marathon. Have to do it on my boyfriend's 26er duel sus. havent ridden one of those in forever. Plus my favourite excuse the altitude. Guess I will just suck it up (literally) and do it.

Glad you got your baby back. I had a bike stolen out of my garage in Westhoven Street Edgemead last year. Now I have no more housemate and a bike room instead.

Personally i quite like it! Its a matter of preference. I know cyclists are all about appearances but seriously, missing out on a bike you otherwise like because of its colour seems a little silly.

i phoned and they said they would have a few road numbers, and i asked nicely and said, well please could you bring my road number!
