Come and ride the Namaqua MTB challenge (26 October 2013) the Saturday and do the pass the next day. It is the same weekend as the Namaqua Huisgenoot festival, so worth a trip.

There is a steady 8km rise before you hit the 7km pass.

Event Name: Namaqua MTB Challenge 2013 When: 26 October 2013 Where: Vredendal, Western Cape Category: MTB Route description: The 57km route consists of about 90% jeep track. The climbs are mainly rocky and technical. Rewarding views of the Olifants River valley awaits the effort. Some fast down hills with hair raising bends. This route requires fit and experienced riders. Good climbing skills are necessary. Rocky hills and sandy tracks will definitely test your skills and abilities. The 40km route is mainly jeep track. The climbs can be rocky in some places and also very steep. At the top of the climbs the rider will be rewarded with stunning views of the valley and surroundings (if there is time to look around). For fit riders this will be a walk in the park, for the not so fit it will be harder, but an unforgettable challenge. The 27 KM is aimed at the riders new to the sport and is a easy ride through the veld and the 10 Km is for the kids and follow a loop through the vineyards. PLEASE NOTE: There are a lot of thorns on this route. Please do not ride without slime and tire liners or tubeless wheels. Go to Event Page

A friend of mine rides exactly the same setup as you. He have done about 10 000km on those Fulkrums without a problem and he weigh 95kg on a good day.(ex SA wrestler so his legs are real powerful ). He do swop his wheels for Easton ea90 for a race and have broken a few spokes on those(no weight limit on eastons).

Ek kies hom altyd met die hoop dat hy my sal verras, maar nou ja, ek is net verras dat ek nie slegter gedoen het nie. Hy het darem meer keer "gefeature" as Voeckler.

My races word bepaal deur n ginikoloog. Ek sal sien Maandag wanneer ons volgende afspraak is. As ek daardie naweek hier is sal ek kom ry.

Man dit was lekker. Ek weet nie waar ek gery het nie, maar het so 48km gedoen. Vir my is enige race, maak nie saak van die omstandighede n "outing". Ek kom so min by races uit dat as ek in die boland is moet ek ry. Die organiseerders kan ongelukkig nie die weer bestel nie en almal wat al n race georganiseer het sal weet dat as so iets gebeur dit n nagmerrie raak om mense op al die punte te kry wat nou skielik verander. Sterkte vir volgende jaar, dit sal beter gaan.

Hi guys. My 6600 Ultegra shifters needs to be replaced and I would like to know if the 6700 shifters are compatable with te 6600 brakes and Dura Ace 7800 deraileurs. Are there anyone who run this kind of setup? Somebody told me that the pull ratio on the brakes are different. I have no idea if that is true or not. Please let me know
