  1. Oh man, the Dolomites are beautiful. That's bucket list stuff right there.
  2. On the topic of us Vaalpense only riding gravel and not mountains, What tyre would you guys suggest for Trans Baviaans? I currently run Maxxis Rekon 2.4s front and back.
  3. Received an email from Ecobound that the start is now back at 10AM. 🤷‍♂️ The TB site still states the 5-7AM rolling start. Asked them if they are certain of the 10AM start.
  4. Don't really want to create yet another TB thread. So hijacking this one. With the 5AM start I sit with a bit of a logistical conundrum. I can get accommodation near Willowmore, but it seems that it sits on the beginning of the TB route. Anybody staying on that route and know if they will allow traffic back to Willowmore for the start? Will there be a 'window of opportunity', say between 3 and 4 to get back to Willowmore? The other option is to stay in Willowmore in the tented camp or the hostel. The issue I face here is, how do I get my over night bag, read pajamas\tooth brush\onderbroek etc to Jeffreys? If we do the hostel or tented camp option our support will have to leave for Jeffreys on the Friday already. Will try my luck with accommodation in and around Uniondale as well.
  5. Dear OP, Hope this message finds you well. Welcome to The Bikehub. I don't really see how posting or ranting on a bicycle forum helps addressing the issue your complaining about. You are literally preaching to fellow cyclists. You had a chance to educate fellow nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts but chose not to. If you cannot stop and smell the roses, proverbially speaking, I don't know what you are doing riding a bike, Might have to reconsider another sport like chess boxing or unicorn show jumping. Maybe try and post on 'trailrunnersincapetownthatmesseswithmeerendalracingsnakes.co.za'.
  6. When can we expect the docuseries on Netflix? Whopper Size Me... I like my braaivleis and all but this is just bonkers!
  7. Very very valuable information provided by you guys! Thank you so much. A lot to ponder over and see what works for me.
  8. I am definitely not fueling correctly over lunch or before HIIT. I do my weekly HIIT in the afternoons at around 16h30. Most often than not I feel a bit depleted in the energy stores. Not tired as in sleep deprived or yawning. More like blood sugar might be running a bit low. I hope this makes sense in what I am trying to say. I do not eat breakfast but do drink a glass of Nutribullet juice (apples\prunes\celery\pineapple) and drink 2 cups of coffee (2 x sugar + milk) in the morning. Around 11:30 I'll have lunch, or is it still brunch. This ranges from chicken breasts and salad, Beef strips with wild rice and veg, avo toasties, ravioli, lentil soup or 'kook kos'. So what is for lunch in the life of the afternoon HIIT Hubber? What have you found works better for you and what not. Do you take any supplements or gels before training? I must just add that come Saturday morning rides I do not have any issues with low energy or such. I mostly ride just on water as well.
  9. Agree...Josh Tarling...Georges van Aert...Raymond van der Poel (Mathieu's future son)
  10. Family of John Degenkolb...
  11. Paris-Roubaix 1896 The winner, Josef Fischer, had a lead of 23 minutes until he was almost knocked off by a horse and was then halted by cows. When Fischer entered the velodrome in Roubaix he was covered in filth and blood. Only three other riders finished within an hour, all in similar conditions. It is absolutely astounding how these riders actually finished this race on those bikes! At an average of 30km/h as well.
  12. My money is on WvA, MVDP, DVB, CL,, MP, FG, MM, SK, KA, AK, ADL, AD or JP to win.
  13. Give your E to the G and then you can chase the G. Will make you faster quicker. PS. R3000-00 for that Wahoo Kickr.
  14. I'll give you R3000... ...for the Wahoo Kickr.
  15. It is 1 April in London, Kiribati... Must be a joke then!
  16. Cycling clothing is not that expensive....
  17. "Goedkoop koop is duur koop" - Afrikaans saying translated into Chinese "Cheapbuy buy is expensive buy". Most of the time you pay for quality. As simple as that. Yes, I know you can get quality at lower price points. Don't want to debate Swiss Engineering excellence made in China but my 2 x Assos bibs are 5 years old and good as new. Other brands didn't last more than 2 years.
  18. With Jumbo reevaluating their sponsorship post 2024 they can maybe rename the team to Bananen-Visma. No need to change the colours of the team as well.
  19. The best boeries were the 4AM ones on the streets of Hatfield Square (PTA)! You didn't know if the babalas was caused by the boerie or the alcohol.
  20. Must say I am enjoying this years W2W Reverse...
  21. I am going to laugh my gat off if Matty and Blev beats SCR in a TT! Lukas Baum's outburst yesterday is aging well.
