  1. I think they now called it quits didn't they? Maybe Chris needs to do the same...
  2. I just don't want a repeat K2C 2019 again! That's all. Is that too much to ask? Please give us Vaalpense some nice weather. Just for one day. ONE.
  3. Posted a comment a few pages back where Mikkel Bjerg mentioned something like a 2kg difference. That is a massive difference me thinks. An old amateur biker always said "It's not about the bike" but I think the bike might have played a role.
  4. I smell something fishy....
  5. Tadej made a huge mistake changing to the road bike for the last climb.... ...he should have changed to his E-BIKE!!
  6. While we are on the subject of Andrew Huberman maybe have a look\listen to his podcast on alcohol consumption and the one on deliberate cold exposure. Some in the sciences calls his podcasts 'bro science' but I still find them interesting.
  7. No worries John, we have the Armchair Serious Scientists on Le Hub to educate you.
  8. One day when I am groot I want to do a camper van TdF. Col du Tourmalet looks so awesome with all the vans. Anybody done it before?
  9. LA won his 7 tours even before it started...
  10. Chappies '23
  11. Sangoma rolling the bones?? Liewe mense! GP's of today...and let me just stop there.
  12. Updated...
  13. Moet ek my beenhare skeer?
  14. Ag nee wat, JV should go for a few stage wins and then reset for 2024. Bad planning from Wout. 😉
  15. I am a bit concerned about Team Jumbo Visma. Without Primoz, Steven and Sepp with Giro in his legs the mountains are going to be tough. Maybe someone like Attila Valter can assist in the mountains? JV need to announce that team now! Eish.
  16. I think your only 2 options still left are the tented camp and the hostel. That is if you want to sleep in Willowmore. Check on the TB site for details. Good luck trying to book the hostel option.
  17. I didn't appreciate the way the doc portrayed the Wout and Jonas relationship. The same for the Gee and Pidcock relationship on the Alpe d'Huez stage. But drama sells I guess. Don't expect to see JV in any future docs. “It is quite disturbing that stories were placed in the documentary that weren’t there. For me, the series is focused on commotion,” he said. "Jonas and I are best mates. It focuses on moments where it's hard to make the right choice, but there are also so many moments where we supported each other and worked together. It's a shame that that was taken out.” - Wout Van Aert
  18. Saw that as well. I would suggest taking a screenshot of the email and keeping it close just incase. While I am here now. Anybody come right with accommodation in the hostel for the Friday? I have emailed them and they came back with what seems like some sort of auto generated booking confirmation. But when I asked for a legit booking confirmation and how do I pay they asked for my cellphone number. Haven't received any comms since. It is starting to look like we will be sleeping in the car that Friday. Eish.
  19. It seems the latest release of Rouvy does not allow you to create or upload your own routes. I was able to do that with their Virtual Route editor in 2019. Can't seem to find the option in the new version of Rouvy.
  20. Japie, moet jou nie te veel steur aan van die manne se kommentaar nie. Ek weet vir 'n feit hier is 'n paar van hulle wat die Monster nie eers sal kan klaar maak nie. I think the MM exposes the 'marathon or T.I.T.S mentality' of us locals. Futher and longer is better than shorter and harder. At the braai the conversation is most of the time 'how far did you ride today'. You get a cheers if you state 'we rode about 120km on the mountain bike'. We Saffas train most of the time for these 'easier but longer' type rides so that we can brag a bit around the braai. We do not train to be able to put down the watt bombs to get up the climbs. I accompanied a mate of mine on his first (...and last) Monster. The guy can go quite far on a mountain bike but not hard, as in you need serious power\watts put down to get up the climbs. His legs just broke off and he couldn't ride up a lot of the climbs after the Monster. I was surprised at the size of the batches, only 2 already says a lot. I think you have your 'harde manne' that return because they want a proper mountain bike ride and then these first timers that have done a Trailseeker marathon and think MM66 = TS70. It is these first timers that do not ever return and leaves you with the real mountain bikers and the next batch of unsuspecting first timers.
