  1. Last minute reroute just after the start to avoid a sewerage spill.
  2. RJ GPX File 2021.gpx
  3. Looks like number collection is individually and in person, after booking a slot. Going to be a bit of a hassle tbh. Below is from the website P.S. GPX file is now on the site
  4. What are the course prices?
  5. Anyone know the date(s) for next years event?
  6. Does anyone have the GPS co ordinates for the two race villages?
  7. Seem to have lost the email that provides details of the sms time notifications - anyone know the details?
  8. Does anyone have a route profile for the race. Can't seem to find one on the cycle lab website.
  9. Any idea when the results will be out?
  10. There was a big crash on the homestretch, on the slight uphill straight about 12 kms from the end. Big bunch of C's and D's going at about 30kph. I just missed it, but it looked like about 10 - 15 riders went down. Must have been a wheel touch, not sure about injuries, just heard lots of carbon crunching as I swerved out the way
  11. Fantastic thanks, looking forward to it. Any idea what sort of distances you can do on that route?
  12. In Kenton for the first time ever over the hols. Anyone have any suggestions for great rides? MTB or road
  13. I have been using the Endurance (to great effect) for a year now. Keen to try the Accelerate this Sunday for the 94.7. Target time is sub 3 hrs Would the appropriate strategy be one bottle of Endurance followed by one of Accelerate? How different is the product makeup? I dont want to commit the cardinal error of racing with a new product for the first time.
  14. Yip, got the same mail today. Phoned them and they said they had mailed me on the 27th of Sept, but this is not the kind of mail I would miss!! Anyway, all's well that ends well, paid and am in too
  15. Price is R1500, cheaper than anything I could find overseas (after postage), plus much less hassel. I suspect that they don't sell too well and the shops are looking to get rid of the stock. Also found one for R2000, so as with all things, it pays to shop around a bit.
  16. Thanks, picking it up from Cycletech tomorrow!
  17. Ok Ok, how about a Campagnolo Wine Cork Removal Device?
  18. Anyone know where I can get the Campy BIG corkscrew locally? Tried buycycle and CWC, neither of them have it. Need it quite urgently as a gift, so was hoping to get locally and not from an offshore webste. Thanks!
  19. Great idea, already got the first kids bike donated.... (My daughter didn't have much say in the matter though)
  20. The Refilwe Community Project (www.refilwe.org) is based just north of Lanseria, and serves the Jhb North community. Its an extensive set up, incorporating a pre school, a nursery school, and a number of work and skills development programms. Many of the kids and teenagers are AIDS orphns from the Joe Slovo squatter camp. An important part of the initiative is up skilling and placing young adults into jobs. However, many of them lack transport or taxi fares to their new places of work. If any of you have some old, unused, unloved bikes lying around at home, how about donating them? They will be revived or repaired and made available as transport for the newly placed adults. Old kids bikes would also be welcome, and would be used at the nursery school. We'll also train some of the teenagers in basic bike maintenance skills, so that they can keep the 'fleet' running, and learn some skills along the way. Who knows, they may end up as a wrench on the Epic one day! PM or put up a post if you can help. We'll arrange to collect the bikes, or find a mutual drop off point.
  21. Does anyone offer an Argus-like transport service to the Knysna festival in July? (from Gauteng) Doing the road and mtb races, flying on kulula, and don't think they will be too happy when I pitch at the airport with two bike boxes!
  22. UK Visa takes 3 days (for a business one), not sure how long the student one will take. That is assuming all docs are in order. They have outsourced the issuing of visas, so its pretty efficient (but costly) New passport takes about 6 weeks, but its a moving target at the moment. If your visa is in an expired passport, its ok, but you then have to travel with both the expired and new passport. Given that you have a bit of time, probably best to get a new passport, then the visa. Use a pasport consultant, they are generally worth the fee, as they get you past the queues for fingerprints etc (to use a passport guy costs about R600 in Jozi, not sure how much in CT) UK visa site is www.vfs-uk-za.com
  23. Technologically challenged, cant seem to attach the excel file. PM me your email and I'll send it to you.
  24. Thanks guys, rode up there yesterday on a mates bike, what a climb! Stopped twice to 'look at the view'
