yes that's what a couple of the reviews were complaining about was that spacer underneath the head tube at the bottom of the headset,some saying it looks unsightly and what would happen if it was removed.

The reviews on them haven't been as great as I thought they would be.

Looks like the bearing is not right down on the crown race,if the crown race goes on skew it will throw it all out.

Ahh ok,yea mine is a 49mm at the bottom but it's a external cup. I had a look at Cane creeks video looks pretty easy to install,so gonna give it a bash. You can make your own headset press with stuff from a hardware store.
