  1. Bummer. Thanks for the detailed info. Now I see the logic behind the failure. I suppose I can put my old rims back on, but the mavic's look so cool...
  2. It seems CWC only have disc brake pads
  3. Thanks, will check them out! My normal rim wranglers really just bring me to a gradual halt. Sometimes that's not enough!
  4. Hi all I bought mavic ceramic rims, but my v-brake pads don't want to stop me. I'm scared of ending up like Evans! What pads should I get? So far I heard that there are avid rim wranglers (green compound) for ceramics, but CRC don't have. Anything else? Cheers
  5. +1?
  6. No bargaining should be required. I agree. If you don't like the price, don't buy it.
  7. For eyewear go to Sports Vision
  8. I agree. Branding is one of the best con-jobs in the business. T-Shirts with Billabong big on the front are more expensive than good t-shirts without a brand. Cycling kit that looks sponsored is another example. Just plain silly...
  9. apparently cellphone texting is the big problem. It causes by far the most accidents.
  10. I whish he was a good friend of mine too...could do with a little trip!
  11. Hehe...hubbers ftw!
  12. I won the VoriBerg race a while ago. Didn't believe it, but then later found out that the 2 guys in front of me took a wrong turn...
  13. hindsight is 20-20. When the race was announced everyone was overly excited about the route, including the sandton section. Now, everyone always knew it wouldn't work. Nobody could foresee this happening. I'm sure they will learn from the mistakes.
  14. I'm over it.
  15. Lol, a bit unfair. I think "Misunderstood attempted purchase".
  16. Don't be put off. I have bought many things on the hub. 99% of ppl on the hub are honest and ethical.
  17. Mmm...I do believe in first come first serve. I have also kept products for someone just for the guy not to arrive. By that time the other potential buyers have come right somewhere else. Maybe Joey100 should have been more open about his policy. "Yes, I still have the saddle, but whoever rocks up first gets it.".
  18. Maybe I should find another steers! I must be honest though, I find it takes me longer to get in the car to go get take aways than just whipping something up at home.
  19. Also, don't think 800m in the pool will cover you for a 400m swim in the Vaal! Swimming in a river or dam is a lot harder, especially while getting elbows and angles in the face the whole time and having to lift your head to see if you are still going in the right direction (they don't paint neat lines at the bottom of the rivers for swimmers to follow ). Practice the transitions as well. Your body goes into shock between the swimming, cycling and jogging transitions. I have to agree about the kit. Do a couple of races with the kit you have.
  20. I cannot remember EVER going through a drive-through or into a take away in 4minutes. More like 15.
  21. Fire Have beer. Add potatoes and mielies in foil to coals. Have beer. Add some chops. Have beer. Eat. Have beer.
  22. Thanks guys I think the first plan of action is to remove the whole lot and have a look at it. See if there is some wear. Maybe make a decision thereafter.
  23. Sorry, you lost me with 'stack' and 'bearing races'.
  24. I'll check again. Perhaps a good service is all it needs. I do recall when fitting the new fork that I battled to get the headset to fit snugly (at the bottom).
  25. Hi I have a 2006 Mongoose Tyax Comp, which according to the www came out with a Richey Logic Zero headset. I have however over time changed everything on the bike except the headset. My fork has a annoying wriggle to it, which I'm sure is the HS. With what should I replace it and how do I know the HS will fit? All I know is it is a 1 1/8. Should I just buy another Richey Logic Zero? Thanks
