  5. one final suggestion and I'll also whisper it in a few other ears as well: but what if the selectors identify some vets races during the next year (maybe 4 races in total all over the country) which can be used as selection criteria for 09? and SA's results can only be one of those identified races....as well as some of the Superseries races.... that sounds fair to me....what do you think
  6. Ok, Spidy you are pissed...sure enough - I'm pissed too and it seems to have hit a brick wall and not adding more fuel the fire: then make it your job.....Spidy....until such time they move out of darkness into the light ....thats the involvement Carinus was talking about....be pro-active.... Not that easy. I don't see me a rider and a selector. How fair would that be?? I trust in the people that are selected to do a good job...... You don't have to be a selector as well.....but let them know who you are, and what you do or been doing....that is the easy part So to me it is not attitude that needs to change but maybe work ethic. Pride in what you do. And then lastly to have the balls to step up to the plate and defend you decisions and how they were made..... You have no idea how tough it to be involved in cycling in SA when it is not your bread and butter....your on duty 24/7 to one and all day and nite....then you still have to work, put a roof over your head, food on the table and maybe if you're lucky your boss doesn't fire your a$$ because your cell phone rings none stop at work....for something you don't get paid to do or any graditude for.... so as long as this job ethic you are refering to is voluentary...... you can do only the best you can under some damn difficult circumstances (and I'm not making any excuses because we all do it because we love the sport - that's why we do it) And that's where your attitude as riders towards these people should change....as long as this job is a voluentary one....which it is.....then get off your asses and pitch the hell in OK, I'm done !! 7. Marko and 101% asked the question in this thread 4 times...........mmmmmmmm Only a few days ago.....after the selection was announced.....not 2 - 3 months ago?
  8. A little bit of female wisdom on this topic Andrew said in his post that every year we make the same mistakes again and again.....so next time lets don't... Vets World Champs takes place every year round about the same time....and most of the vets have a fairly good idea whether they are going to make the trip or not.... nobody prevents you from keeping the selectors informed through out the year of your performances .... so my message to team managers / individuals (who ever you are) put racing CV's together of ALL your results and submit it to the selectors....inform them of what you have been up to as a rider and do it 2 - 3 months prior to Worlds.....then they have the info to make informed dicisions... And if you don't know who the selectors are....YOU ASK there's The Hub, Carinus, myself, CSA - any body can get information Lets not make the same mistakes again, people
