  1. Its the interbreeding that causes a lot of the structural problems as well as other issues. It is also the varied mixed breeding. Some dogs should not be bred with others. The foods are a definite issue, even our foods are not as good as they used to be. Loaded with hormones and who knows what else.
  2. I would use the shock collars on kids and maybe my cat, but never my dogs.
  3. If i remember correctly there are 3 brands and some are more popular in different areas. So if the vet or whomever was scanning was using the wrong scanner then it would not pick them up. I had my dogs checked the other day, chips are 2-3 years old and worked first time on them. Found both chips on the staffie with different scanners. I think its standard that it is injected on either side of the neck. It is like a tracker though, you should check every now and then that it is working and that the vet, ect. in your area use what scanners.
  4. Its a small chip with an ID, it gets injected into the neck and you never feel it unless you know exactly where it is. If they find a lost dog they scan it, it will give an id which has all your details linked to it. Both my dogs are chipped and my cat, my staffie has 2 different chips as he was chipped with a different brand to what i use before i got him. I dont use daily collars as my friends dog choked itself when the collar got hooked on a branch.
  5. Ahh got ya, A walk though if she is well behaved and if she really enjoys it will still be beneficial. Chasing games are unfortunately a no no, its the hard acceleration and declaration thats the problem.. My staffie slipped a disk, found him one morning on his back unable to move and thought he had broken his back. 6 weeks of NO jumping/running, try to handle that with a super enthusiastic dog that doesnt feel pain. He was a frisby dog and now can never play with it again as he will jump off a cliff to catch it and cant risk him having a bad tumble. Good luck though It is all to the betterment of them though.
  6. It does help with them. When they get older you need to keep some Rymadol handy. My Boerboel had hip displacia and he live to 11 and was 75kgs. He ended up passing in an opp to save him from bloat. I disagree with not walking her, i was still walking my boy the day of and to be honest kept him strong which helped.

    Rugby...

That is very true, but if the Lions can hold off the opportunistic attacks i think that will be game set and match. Patience in defense and solid forwards is a winning combo 9 times out of 10 and if you saw the lions Sharks game you would have seen at the start of the second half just how strong the Lions were in defense. Should be a cracker regardless of who wins it.

    Rugby...

It will be at Ellis Park. I agree a lot with the team above but there is no way that Catrakilis is playing better rugby than Boshoff. The Lions pack has to and will dominate the province side which will eventually win it for the Lions. Good forward ball will just hurt Province too much.
  9. She is probably banging his best friend and he has no clue.
  10. he looks a bit like Stalone with that droopy eye.
  11. Wish my Staffie was like that, he loves water but is scared of the pool as he has ended up at the bottom and fights if i try put him in. He will only go chest deep in damns as well. The female cross i have is a different story, she stays by the pool if it is open jumps in has a swim and catches the bubbles. On our last holiday she swan across a lake about 250m and back.
  12. I got mine from these guys, www.furballpet.co.za They were super helpful and not badly priced.
  13. I will make certain everything is perfect with him and the vest. My wife is super paranoid with these things. i doubt he will do doggy paddle, his only attempt as swimming properly to date was just a bunch of splashing. Funny though is that our other dog is the equivalent of Michael Phelps. have to teach him to swim with this.
  14. I have seen the pics, they do look similar. How old is Congo now, my boy is 2.5. I wish Thor would sit on the step, he refuses to get in and runs around and falls in.
  15. Thor and Emily, best friend sitting watching me braai. Thor in his new swimming gear, he swims slightly worse than a brick so we have had to help him out a bit. Have yet to put him in the pool though.
  16. Ah ok. Well anyone want to swap forks Reba RLT straight steerer brand new QR.
  17. My Staffie lies behind me on the couch and lets me use him as a pillow as well. He actually looks quite a bit like mine too.
  18. These are the basic adapters i have been looking at but as said before would prefer something more like a Thru Axle that handles the Open dropouts. http://www.evobikes.co.za/wheels/wheelset-accessories/mavic-15mm-to-normal-qr-convertors.html http://www.evobikes.co.za/wheels/wheelset-accessories/mavic-adapters-for-12mm-thru-axle-to-normal-qr.html
  19. I have the Easton EA70 with x4 hubs Front 15*100mm Rear 12*135mm
  20. Hi Fanie, yes that is one of the options, however i would want to do away with the normal QR if possible. I would ideally like a 15mm thru axle that adapts to the QR fork and frame.
  21. Hi All, I have a QR frame and fork and a wheelset with 15mm thru axle hubs. I have seen various conversion kits and everyone seems happy with what they have. What i am looking for is an answer as to what you think is best. What i would like is something like these, http://www.dtswiss.com/Components/RWS/RWS-Thru-bolt but i cant seem to find if they work for my situation. Thanks.
  22. I use the exact same opposite item for swimming. I believe it will work(ever so slightly) but would be rather uncomfortable/maybe not.
  23. It takes a while to kick in as well. you can expect years of weight gain to shred in a couple weeks. My mate uses all these fat burners and he puts the weight back on quickly when done. PS, alcohol is one of the biggest problems.
  24. You should upgrade because you prefer the other bike. You generally ride more if you like it more not because it is bigger. On the 29er thing vs the 27.5 Once you start upgrading the 29er will become a similar value if not cheaper as there are a lot more second hand parts to be had, and you will want to upgrade as soon as you get spare cash. Me personally, i would keep the bike. Its not really worth selling a 26er at the moment as there are so many up for grabs and at such low prices. Good luck and have fun on the trails.
