  1. Thanks Tom, Actually stumbled across their site this morning. IF they were in my area I would have gone there first.
  2. Haha, That really made me smile. It is my 30th present. Congrads on 21 years, im only 3 years in.
  3. A gift from my wife. Chronograph Newport Yacht Club Got this from my mom, it was her fathers. It has been in a box for the last 20 years. My grandfather was wearing this when he got electrocuted and the strap melted into his arm hence no strap. Funny thing is I took it out last night, shook it and it started working. The watch has to be roughly 50 years old. Im looking at getting it restored, I have contacted Seiko SA and waiting their response. Does anyone know any guys who can help with the restoration?

    Which Headset

    Thanks for the replies.
  5. Hi All, Have no clue when it comes to headsets. I have a Gary Fisher Superfly frame I am building up. From what I can find guys are using the Cane Creek ZS-3 semi integrated headset. Could someone point me in the right direction as to a GOOD headset that is compatible. Thanks.
  6. From what I understand, no matter what the condition certain treatments(medications) are not allowed to compete/partake even if you apply for a TUE as they provide a performance benefit. My doctor is an avid cyclist and he told me I would not be allowed to participate in certain events due to my medication. What I take can alter my testosterone and GH levels (not that it has unfortunately)
  7. No I cannot, It is a banned substance (not cough Syrup).
  8. So this is the case, I am a rider and would love to do the epic and I cannot because I have a condition that I will be treated for for the foreseeable future. I have no choice in not taking the meds. There is only one type of medicine that I can take(there is NO alternative), but I cannot ride the epic because this is a banned substance. Sometimes life is unfair, sometime its people that make life unfair. In this case I think the latter is the case.
  9. Cool post and its good to get other perspectives, where I disagree is on 2 points although I do everything on my own bikes. 1) If I take my bike in to be serviced and it is not done correctly my bike should be first in line when I take it back. I would have been out of use for longer because of the store. This is typical in any said business. 2) If it is not done properly it is someones fault and blame lies there in even though it was a mistake. It is just a bike, but if a doctor makes a mistake do you just accept it and move on.
  10. Well that's unfortunate. Have used a couple different helmets and the Spez works for me. The thing is they have the crash replacement and you can always get spares. Those are the big selling points for me.
  11. You cant go wrong with Spez helmets. My propero is going strong after 3 years and I believe you can still get spares. Would fit into your budget as well.
  12. I don't know the name of mine, but they are thin and really breathe well. Use them for running as well and my shoes are super tight. Agreed that the price is a bit crazy though.
  13. I enjoy my DeFeet socks
  14. Don't waste your money as said before, just get a 12-36 cassette. All you will need then is a cassette tool to swap the parts out. After a month or two you wont need the smallest gear.
  15. Hi Tankman, So I have a 9 speed XTR long cage with a RF Narrow Wide set up. Will I be able to put a 10 speed shifter, cassette and chain on and tune it to work? Big question, will this then work with one of the 42 sprockets?
  16. http://www.bikecalc.com/gear_speed Before you go and spend money, just go look here and see how slow you will ride with those gear ratio's On a 24 Front and 36 back you will need a cadence of 100 which is pretty high to go 8.5km/h on a 26" At a 60 cadence you will be doing 5km/h.
  17. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/za/en/shimano-deore-hg61-9-speed-mtb-cassette/rp-prod31059 if you look there is an option for the 12-36
  18. Then go buy a 12-36 9 speed cassette (will save you a lot of money compared to going 10/30 speed). It really wont make that much of a difference. To be honest on a 22/24 front chainring and a 36 sprocket you will have to be spinning your ass off just to move.

    Cricket......

And that's lunch. 2 sessions to go and 1 new ball. If we last the new ball with no wickets going down we stand a fare chance of the draw. If anyone could do it, it is these two.

    Cricket......

Because it roughs up the ball, assists with reverse swing and spin. It is allowed but unethical if done consistently.

    Cricket......

Its this type of game that gets TRUE cricket supporters excited. Its T20 that is ruining the image of test and people wanting to see 4+ runs an over. up until a few years ago, 3.5 an over for an innings was considered Good going. We are under the stick at the moment and if we manage to draw and only score 20 more runs then that is fantastic.
  22. Think I will do the 45km on the rigid. The 80 will break me at the moment.

    Cricket......

Then watch T20, This is Test cricket at its best IMO and most cricket pundits as well. There are a few reasons for less tests this year, one being the T20 world cup, This year also leads into the Limited overs world cup next year Then and this is a big factor, we got paid off to allow Aus/Eng/India to run the show and they all get preference so we get left out in the cold.

    Cricket......

And Abbott goes. Interesting fact, Longest innings by an individual is 847 balls. I would like Hash to take the job as well, but he turned it down last time. Does anyone remember that Smith actually asked to have the captaincy taken back in 2007. The team and management begged him to keep it.

    Cricket......

Right you are, Wasn't thinking straight. I remember watching guys like Lara and before him Greenridge and Hayes. Lara would try bat for 5 days just to show that he could, Test cricket wasn't about winning but rather showing your resilience and being better than the others.
