  3. Strangest "bump" I have ever had was from a rubber duck on a trailer. It was a close call with the stone face of the mountain as we were going rather fast.
  4. You won't feel the difference on your commute to work. Might I recommend "upgrading" to a hardtail Leet
  5. Here is an interesting pic taken from when they were still constructing the Cycle Lanes trough Paarden Island. ..... a duallie was a good choice
  6. It has been a while, so attached please find a random pic taken on our commute this morning.
  7. The first LBS I asked (just because I was passing by) charged me R10.00 per bolt ... I lost one and stopped at my regular LBS (Action Cycles in Town) and they smiled, dug in their little box of bolts and wanders and handed over the bolt for R0.00 .... nice guys they are

It is a great event for the Kids and we will be there again this year ... I think this my sons 4th or 5th kiddies Argus now ... so he has done more than his dad
  9. These work well and if the LBS charges expect R10 per bolt. This works, but if the washer is too large a dia. then it can rub on the chain ... bear this in mind when shopping for washers.
  10. Riding any Cape Town trail you need tubeless for when those bloody thorns come out .... just make the leap or at least run with sealant in your tubes and tyre liners .... those bloody things are what made me convert to tubeless and I have been a far happier rider since!
  11. Ok guys ... so how tough is this trail for a rider who is still trying to find his SS climbing legs? I am not worried RE coming down, it is just getting to the top that might be a little painful.
  12. I am sure I saw that white APEX at JOC cycles today!
  13. You Ass At least I only work from 9am - 5pm so get to ride in a little later than most.
  14. Any of you tree hugging, bunny cuddling, tofu eating hippies riding home to Table View this evening about 5:30pm from Town on the Cycle Lanes?
  15. As long as you make sure your clothes are in a water proof bag or at least in plastic bags in your back pack and you get a decent outer jacket, use layers and nice full finger gloves you will be ok. It is just motivating yourself to get out there in miserable weather that is the hard part. Now here is a gem of a tip. Get a BUFF ... don't attempt winter without it. Wrap up your ears and neck to keep the cold air at bay and you will be more comfortable and less prone to getting sick! You can't go without one honestly!!!
  16. Here is a little site you might like then Nigel http://www.parkpre.com/index.htm
  17. Does it look like this? http://www.parkpre.com/images/SDC10570.jpg
  18. 1996 Gary Fisher cycling Jersey that matched my then Gary Fisher Hoo Koo E Koo .... (what a nice bike that was) That jersey is great still for retro rides and as a base layer on cold outings on the bike
  19. Great Value and an amazing ride I would look at an One One Inbred. There are a couple of used frames around, but really hard to find For around 3.5K mark you can land a brand new one in SA inc. delivery and T.A.X/Duties.http://twentynineinches.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/OO-logo.gif
  20. Good old SAA never came back to me in time RE taking my bike with me on the flight, so there was no cycling for me on this trip. I did however pop into North Cliff cycles for the first time and they sure do have lots of very nice toys in the store!
