  1. Jis Chris... up until last year this have not been on my radar, but if I ever can shake my injuries this is for sure on the bucket list!!
  2. Shoh thats nice!! Im also in your "original" budget group and seriously considering an Orbea Orca. They look great and seem like good value for money. Other options are the Specialized sl6 with 105, Trek SL5 (heavy?) And Scott Addict with maybe the 105 di2..outside chance of a Giant Tcr/defy. Something more endurance will probably suit my body better, but in a ideal world I would like the racier options! Haha! But Im not too concerned about the electronic groupsets. Im sure they are flippin nice, but will cost more to maintain and to replace when the time comes. Another thing I like about the Orbea is the higher stack. But damn The Emondas are good looking bikes! Hope you enjoy that beaut!
  3. Ah ok, cool thanks. If a person wants to buy for road and mtb... what do you buy? Xc100, rk100, rs100? Thanks for the help, much appreciated!
  4. I got that. Just making sure if you bought the xc200 or xc100 (x2) and if so, why not just 1x xc200?
  5. Ah ok thanks. You bought 2? But you only use one per bike hey? And these can be used with anything from Shimano M520 to Shimano Xtr pedals?
  6. 2 Questions.. Why would you buy the pedal power meters rather than a crank based one? Does it make the one side way heavier than the other? Thanks in advance!
  7. So with my shiny new rims I'm adding some shiny new tires for race season. This is mostly Marathon type mtb stuff with gravel, loose over hard and hard packed. Schwalbe Racing Ray front and Racing Ralph rear in Superground casing (2.35) - I know they are a bit heavy but apparently they are the bees knees.. Aspen/Rekon Race or just Aspen (2.4 WT). If a mix between the two... I was thinking Aspen rear and Rekon Race front? The RR has bigger side knobs to grip when leaned over.. For my wife I was thinking Ikon rear and Ardent Race front. Bit more grippy, but still fast rolling. Then I want to use my old rims as a training set for when Im on the road. Tire options are Maxxis Rambler and Schwalbe G-one Bite. Any experience with them?
  8. I am 1.71m... there is no way you are on a Large frame, except if you have abnornal long arms or legs. Still, then a stem change should be able to correct it. That Merida is a very nice bike, but its a proper race bike, so I think you will be in a aggressive position if you dont make a few changes to the handlebars, stem, etc. That stem is flipped as well if I remember correctly. But for that money you will not get a lighter bike. Should climb like a goat! Friend bought one recently and for a small upcharge he got Cycle Lab to upgrade the fork from a 32SC to a 34SC. They also changed his stem and he got some riser handlebars. Something to consider.... I cannot believe that a fitter recommended a Large frame for you. On a Trek you maybe could have gone for the M/L
  9. Thanks Nonky. I was looking for some specs to compare. I didnt see that sheet. For comparison:
  10. Checking some of the prices I could find so far. A set of South Industry wheels would set me back double the price of Lyne and almost 50% more than the Csixx.. Does nobody here ride any of these two brands or are there issues that I am unaware of? Feel free to dm me if you have some info or recommendations Thanks for the input so far
  11. Sounds great, but pricing? And who stocks them?
  12. Cool, but I dont see any further specs? Are they more on the enduro side of the spectrum?
  13. Thanks, who sells South Industries? Pricing?
  14. So I'm thinking about upgrading my wheelset on my Mtb to Carbon. Mostly do XCM and some trails, nothing too technical. Looking at Lyne Pulse, but if the Hub rather recommends CSIXX, I am willing to save up for their XCM wheelset. I like that the CSIXX have a lifetime warranty.. I think the Pulse have 5 year warranty? I can get Zero Two as well and they have a good warranty, but a friend have now had troubles on 2 occassions in races with them. They were replaced and repaired... but still.. What say you?
  15. No... the kickr 5 sells for around R20k. You cant buy a kickr 3 new as far as I know. They go used R10-R12k. Should be on the hub. I still think I'd go Saris H3 at the current prices.. Good luck! Happy hunting! Sure all of them will do the job
  16. I have a Wahoo Kickr 3. I think you will be able to pick one up for around your budget... I don't have any experience with any of the products you mentioned, but the H3 is supposed to be on a better level than the others on your list. It's known as a no nonsense, stable trainer that can handle a lot of power. It is often compared to the Kickr 5 and Tacx Neo for stability and power but eith less fancy features. Regarding the 2 Tacx models. A salesman told me about compatability issues with the Flux S and certain cassettes... don't quote me on this. Just make sure I got some mixed reviews regarding the Flux 2.... check some comparisons on youtube or speak to your LBS. Hopefully someone with more experience with these models will chime in
  17. My wife and I have been using it the past year. She did a couple of races with it. We have had absolutely no problems with it so far. I should clean my tires sometime probably before I top up.. so I dont know if it builds up inside like Stans, but the product works
  18. A while back I saw a Marvel 26" kids bike with hydraulic disc brakes and apparently you can choose between trigger and grip shift for R6-7k at Cycle Lab/CwC... Any reason no one mentions it?
  19. Nice deal this @TheAielman. You are then also dealing with a standup guy!!
  20. Irma het vir Dawid gewys waar die wortels begrawe is!!
  21. Has anyone tried one of these belts with any success??
