  1. So my Kickr's belt broke and I've been trying to get one.. Not one of the big bicycle shops that I know in the Western Cape keeps them in stock. Some advertises it on their sites, but ja... According to CWC and Cycle Lab there is no stock from the suppliers.. On Saturday I contacted Wahoo, email got bounced back. Failed delivery I contacted Buycycle and found out they and Wahoo are the same company. I did not know this. Anyway, I now had to log a ticket to find out if they have stock, as their websites indicate they have... but I'm not paying before I know there is stock. Surely they can't be discontinued??!!! Wahoo Kickr 1, 2 and 3 uses that same belt. So there must be thousands out there?! I really hope they can find one for me, I can finally start riding this week again on the trainer after a 15 week injury layoff! Anybody else with any other ideas are more than welcome to share them! Have a lekker week!!
  2. I have also heard about this Ouzo. I tried it a few years ago with a bakkie and we tried financing a higher amount but the interest was the same on both applications. But I will keep in mind thanks
  3. I see the buyers are getting clever as well! Thanks haha
  4. I tried this route.. but the banks are getting clever now. They told me I can't pay 50% deposit and finance it over 36 months, because of "affordability".. they suggest I pay 10% deposit and pay it over 60 months.... guess who scores more this way?!! I didnt even bother to reply.
  5. Despite the initial forecast, conditions were set for FAST times. First few guys all got in under 3 hours! Addition of 55km was great, we have been asking for a medium distance for two years now. If I have to nitpick here, it could be just a bit longer? Sadly the goodie bag just gets smaller every year and it is actually quite dissapointing now. My wife's official time is also still not included on the list. Will check again tomorrow It is a nice race, but getting the logistics right makes for careful planning, you will need a driver or you have to stay in Lamberts Bay (end destination) and make use of the shuttle service
  6. Previous gen it was like that yes! Now 120/120 and the regular spark moves to 130 if I'm not mistaken. Also different tires and a dropper on the regular spark
  7. Ridden there twice, you climb all day long. 1000m in 30km easily! I would go for a downcountry bike and get it light. Specialized epic evo or maybe a Trek top Fuel on the otherside of the xc spectrum. I would not go heavier than that.
  8. Spoke to them, for the time being, CWC will stay as is
  9. Tookme a week to figure out how it works, and I made a few early mistakes. I also missed out on some of the quiz questions, but it was great fun! Pity they dont show how many points a rider scored in total
  10. Dan moet jy maar die 100 ry!
  11. I'm "local". My wife and few friends are doing it. Unfortunately I'm still injured
  12. Just wow! First time that I really follow tdf.. probably because of the fantasy game haha!! And now I want a road bike, how will I convince swambo?!!
  13. He can learn the trade from Rafa Nadal!
  14. After hearing about Schwalbe having good results in the epic and some good feedback on the internet, Im planning my next set of tires. My current tires are still fine but if I find some tires I like, I would add them to the inventory.. my current tires are Spez Fast Trak and Ground Control. I did like a Barzo more than the Ground Control as far as grip is concerned. So the options Im looking at: Racing Ralph and Racing Ray Mezcal and Mezcal Fast Trak and Fast Trak (Renegade?) Recon Race/Aspen Pirelli? I would like to stick to a fast running combo with the option of keeping a Barzo or Forekaster (or something similar) as a backup option if the conditions require it. A few years ago I heard horror stories about Schwalbes reliability but can anyone please give some experience on the latest models? I'd love some tanwall tires, but it seems you only get those with a less durable sidewall so probably not ideal. And now for the bonus question, haha..... As I'm recovering from a ruptured achilles and will hopefully only start pedalling by the end of the month on the trainer, I was thinking of putting on a set of Vittoria Terreno gravel tires on my mtb as I will probably only ride on the tar road for the upcoming months. What does the hub say?
  15. I only know the Armour Ride, it is expensive, but I will do it again in a heartbeat. Got great service as well. Go for the full custom one. Most shops only have the essential kit.
  16. Nah, they will wait till he is level and then drop him!
  17. Have you gotten insight yet?
  18. Cool thanks for the update, always great to have some information available
  19. Same here. My wife and I both use it, so its basically half price and then there's always discount on yearly membership around halloween/black friday. So I see Rouvy as being less than 50% of the others. We only use ir for intervals or z2 work when the weather doesn't allow and of course my wife can't go riding alone on the road.
Weet jy dalk?
  22. Probably not. If Im not mistaken that triangle isnt very big though. Hopefully someone with a Spark can confirm if it can take 2 decent sized water bottles?
  23. I do xc and I hate wearing backpacks and stuff on me so I always lean towards the bikes with two bottle cages as well.. its personal preference. But there are options like the holy rail from Lyne and you get bottle cages that fit at the back of your seatpost. I see them alot on Trek and Scott bikes.
  24. Unsure if the op is going for a medium or large but does the holy rail cater for two bottles on a medium scott spark as well?
  25. Sid is xc, Pike is trail.... to make it short. Not sure what you want to do. I think for riding some trails en messing about you will like the Pike. But as it is the newer Sid it is also a bit beefier than the old one, so also a good choice. I did not go and check the specs on any of these two bikes now.. but pick the bike that speaks to you or feels the most comfortable. I don't think there's a bad choice here if these two are the only bikes on the table
