  1. so do I maybe you just missed the earlier posts about why no drug testing was done at the event
  2. maybe its because AT took the race too serious seeing that it was a fun ride afterall?
  3. And here I was always thinking that it was all so peaceful in Slaapstad
  4. Tumble, what you saying here - isnt it an assumption , and the same would apply to what you arguing the purpose was originally?
  5. this is what we wish for, but we know it doesnt happen not in SA, not in sport, not in cycling, everywhere there is 2 sets of rules
  6. I thought rules applied to all. Mallo - what planet you from dude???
  7. sad day indeed if on a public forum one cant ask questions to find clarification of something you heard
  8. that's def a MTB
  9. no pic, but I had a ride of 2 hrs, through the dark south. this pic was taken a few weeks ago on a morning ride - note the weaving palms...........
  10. I forgive you, but only cause you beat the Bulls in the semi's!! dont cheat again, pse. You will be teh reason I have to finish 888th next time...........and that would not be easy to swallow
  11. So what you saying is that its the out of towners that come to our race to come and cheat Its something about that province of yours , I mean the Zulu thing et al
  12. often wonder about this and yes its been said if there is competition there will be cheating and its all about bragging rights if you ask me the guys/girls who race for prize money and podium spots will not do it - they much rather take cough meds. - oops I know its a sweeping statement but it happens!! Had a flat 3k's from the finish at Race 4 Victory, lost 6 mins + and yes, just rode over the mat, got a crap time and live with it. Part of life. Rode 3 mins slower than 09 on sunday (on a real crap day in the saddle) and seriously never considered not going over the mat, but hey - there is a thought for the future. Now to convince my VA bud (2:28) to take my chip with him
  13. my point exactly -and that is the same in all races................ for sure due to higher numbers in this race you will have more incidents, but the one's I saw happened in VB & VC.
  14. I started at 5:50 - 19 degr, finished at 8:40 ish - 30 degr. Ave temp was 27. No idea how hot it got, but sure pretty high 30's would be a good guess.
  15. well prepared and all, still suffer from cramps from time to time to avoid I take Rennies every 30 mins or so. certainly works, unlike cramp stop etc.. make sure you drink enough of the right stuff too didnt cramp yesterday although I had a very crappy race. cramping afterwards during night or next day - I have that too yes Suppose its got to do with your make up and muscle fatigue. Sitting still or lying in same position and then a sudden movement and the muscle responds by cramping - VERY UNCOMFORTABLE AND SORE
  16. If you thought this was about me not wanting to take the risk, I suggest you read again. If its a general statement, I agree
  17. Sorry to hear about the mishap...... Hope the knee recovers soon enough!!
  18. I have argued with some hubbers in the past who claim certain races are less safe than others due to mainly traffic and road conditions. I believe all races are equal ito safety and that riders are the cause and not the circumstances - in most cases at least. Reading all these threads about incidents yesterday and having seen a few myself, I just wonder if this race is safe, and what would the argument be? What do you think?
  19. cool stuff thanks a stack!! maybe as a service to race organisers feed them with the feedback before and after an event
  20. you did mean players ne!!
  21. parking spot in front of hotel entrance to parking spot in front of hotel entrance 2:13 seems I must rather give it up as its way too slow for this thread
  22. Its gonna be apartheids fault!! Because they dont have access to better medical advice to not get caught
  23. Great for the Bulls SARU Media Release Doping Control Outcomes Springboks Chiliboy Ralepelle and Bjorn Basson are returning home from South Africa’s tour of Britain and Ireland having returned positive samples for a banned stimulant following the Test against Ireland on November 6. Six Nations Rugby Ltd – who administers the November internationals – informed the South African Rugby Union of the positive Tests on Sunday evening. As a result the pair are provisionally suspended from all rugby and will return to South Africa on Monday. Basson injured an ankle in Saturday’s win over Wales and was due to return anyway. The players were randomly drawn for testing by anti-doping officials following the Test at the Aviva Stadium. The players have the right to request that their ‘B’ sample be tested. The pair returned an adverse analytical finding for methylhexaneamine, a “non-specified stimulant” on the prohibited substances list of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). It is scheduled to be re-classified as a “specified stimulant” from 1 January 2011. Issued by SARU Communications
  24. send me a mail to pjnot@mweb.co.za and I will send you the calender as is now
  25. difficult to answer, depends on the group might even be slower than what you would ride by yourself you can ride at 30 k's by yourself and in a bunch at 40 route, weather etc all major contributors I would say if you can ride 30 k'h ave on yr own, anything from 36 upwards is possible to maintain in a group over a 100k's might be totally wrong though
