As always the race was well organised. My gripe was that I came back from a warm up ride and heard the announcer saying TL and AL is already at the start line.... This was more than 25 mins before the start time. So I was on my way to the pen and got directed to the start line. Needless to say when I got there I was in teh last third. Not a happy chappy and I knew the first 20 mins chasing from that far back will be the closest to hell I'd get today. Marshalling was ok, but the Cat 4 story pissed me off big time due to the fact that our bunch doubled in size and it was on a dangerous part of the course approaching the steps.... Maybe if I knew in advance what the story was with the start, I could have cut my warm up short, be on time and had a civil start. But all ended well!

Nope, no breakaway grp up ahead Bunch finished together, Riaan La Cock took honours, with Linden guy 2nd.

I ride A, so dont know who he is unfortunately....... would gladly have assisted though!

thanks for your efforts. It was a rider numer 673 who when A passed them jumped in, ignored the calls from C4 to come back and that caused the rest of C4 to ract and join in. Agree with innocent riders being affected now, but sure next time they will sort their maatjie out. They all did National service and will know how to deal wit the culprit.

jip, I was shitting myself big time for much of the race. I dont know what they were thinking? Also very relieved to have come out of this one in 1 piece. Almost got taken out in the incident just before we started the climb out of Heidelberg. But hey, I'll gladly take the time and ave! Certainly my quickest ever race

what I thought ultimately though CSA needs to ensure all is in place before race day.......... @mallow - I don't see yr point brother. I merely asked for clarity.

how big is CSA's involvement in the organisation? maybe the host province is at fault? 2010 did not experience any of this bacause the organisers knew what they were doing?

fuburza - you obvioulsy didnt ride the same route as me..... Previous route was fast yes, this one sure aint fast or flat

cat's werent made up in that way, it was just the age groups thrown into cats, so it was more or less the same as before. Cat 1 was probably only one that was correct. A had a few riders whom I know raced licenced before, but racing yesterday was negative, and ended up way slower than what it could have been. So I for one can't answer you - yet

no sweat i was refering to the hubber you were speaking to and the topic which has been debated and debated and debated and debated again......... Up north I do believe that racing vs own ability is the way to go. Currently someone with a seeding of 30 (on national index, not PPA) can enter vets because he has a licence and just be a finisher....... what is the point of that?? Now that person will only be able to ride cat 4 if he is lucky, otherwise open C/D/E where he should have been from the start. Much more fair dont you think?
