I see the results are available on magaliesmonster.co.za.....my time 3:07 for 45km....much better than 2007 when I struggled for almost 5 hours!!! THIS IS A MTB RACE!!!

I did the 45km after a 3 years lay off....went much better this time around, but this remains THE TOUGHEST race!!! My opinion...I agree with KiNgL...the only place you can rest is during the uphills . I must however commend the organisers, the Bokomo (Pro Nutro) breakfast corner was a WINNER!! and the water tables had what one was looking for, either water or a snack (banana or Bokomo bar) and something sweet in the line like Pepsi!! One thing is sure, I have not pushed/carried my bike for such long periods. WHEN ARE THE RESULTS OUT???? Andrew Mclean came past me on that incredible downhill 10k's from the finish. The oke is an ANIMAL!! I'll be back next year...

I got my CRC order yesterday....on pure bike equipment (no clothes, etc. on this, I think you pay extra duties...) you pay straight 14% VAT and a R25 handling fee.....must be because they handled my package. I got my slip in my PO Box, I paid the necessary cash at my post office and got my new XT crank, Fizik Gobi Saddle, 2 Mountain Kings tyres, 3 XT chains!!! LIFE's BEAUTIFUL....

I use chamois butter or what ever ingredient for the sole purpose to stop/eradicate any chaffing......MARKII shammy cream works for me!

For the first time EVER I ordered MTB/Bicycle parts online from a dealer...whether SA or worldwide!!! One is always a bit apprehensive when doing this for the first time, as you are not always sure of the outcome!! Well, my SRAM PG990 cassette from Chris Willemse Cycles, which I placed on Friday (last week) afternoon, was in Heidelberg, Gauteng on Monday morning. Excellent service and real value for money. Well done guys!! With this type of customer centric attitude and service, you'll definitely go very far and have a longstanding and prosperous company in South Africa. Martie.....you should have tried either of them much prior to Sunday's ARGUS...like in your training rides!! But either of them, correctly mixed should be fine!!! Those energy gels may only upset your stomach if you also haven't tried them before..rather make some wholesome samies, like bread and peanut butter, a muffin or two...a banana or two
