We are MOUNTIES...he has never had that problem, but hey a GPS is GPS and obsctructions may sometimes interfere with satelites.....in JHB, my car GPS sometimes has issues amongst all the tall building structures....

Fast R...I am also in the market and also posed a few questions a week back....I received comments that the Edge 500 had issues with freezing screens, etc....but apparently the lastest firmware has sorted that. To be honest, I have just ordered one from EasyGIS... . A mate of mine has one...no issues at all and he downloads all his rides to gamin connect site...good luck!! I am leaving POLAR as they do not support Apple Mac and I do not want to load the dual software on my Macbook to run both Windows and Snow Leopard...

I am planning to do the CraterCruise....I have been doing the Nissan MTB Series races and have a number board. Q1 - Is that a SAS number board? Q2 - Can I use that number board (NISSAN) to do the Crater Cruise....I see you must have a SAS Number Board. In the past they used that Timing Chip....Q3 - would that also still be valid? Sorry for stupidity, but I am just asking....

Thanks spinnekop en wonduhboy.... Seems like the new firmware have sorted the Edge 500 issues....do you guys use normal Windows based PC's/laptops or Apple Mac's? I have an Apple Macbook and was wondering if Garmin have all the software for both operating systems (Windows and Mac)?

I have seached theHub and can't find anything on this.... Do any of you have or know of issues with the Garmin Edge 500? (i.e. difficulty with screen visibility, poor battery life, screen and functions freezing). I am seriously considering to acquire a Garmin...but should it be the Edge 705 or 500....I am no serious racer, just your normal weekend rider who likes gadgets... (why not.... )

I must also add that EasyGIS monitors theHub and responds quickly when one seeks (in general) any GARMIN product...well done...proactive sales and service...

Seems like you 40km riders had way more fun than us 70km's guys....not fair we did odd 26km's more and should have had as much fun.... :D :D :lol: But it was good!!!

I saw those three red arrows during the Diamond Rush (70km) and decided today is not a good day to fall and break something....like a sissie I walked down..... .....but I am still alive and kicking!!
