  1. Thanks for the link...did some reading last night.....to me it does seems that an interesting link does exist between people that are wearing a helmet taking risks, that they would not ordinarily do, because of the protection a helmet provides, so I can believe that people wearing helmets could have more falls than those that don't. I definatley do...I'm a clutz on a bike and would never try some of the stuff I do, if I did not have a helmet on my noggin.
  2. In every species on this planet natural selection takes place ensuring the strongest genes are passed on the the next generation. Ie. if you are an animal and are sickly and stupid will will probably be eaten by something else, kill yourself or die of disease before you have a chance to procreate. The human race it seems is the only species where the "stupid" gene has rights. Biologically speaking Rant off
  3. We also went through a stage of too many tanks....my goldies bred and had millions of babies...then as quickly as they hatched the parents started eating them, so we were moving fish around to save them. Eventually we ended up with about ten getting to a decent size
  4. I've been babysitting the cousin's single goldfish in my massive tank for too long now (they moved house six months ago)...felt bad that it was lonely and went and bought it some friends......I remember few years ago saying.."never again" and now back to square one! Come Uni....get some more!!
  5. Watch Frances "Frankie" Du Toit.....in the next few years.... Kicking butt at the games in Botswana.
  6. I love my helmet...I can enjoy a social ride even on a bad hair day.... But seriously I had a huge prang on new years day, came OTB and landed flat on my face, blood nose the works. Put a crack in my helmet. If I was not wearing one I think I would be eating my meals through a straw and doing four piece puzzles in therapy right now....
  7. That looks like what happened the last time I tried to bake bread. Even the dogs wouldn't eat it.
  8. Ultimatley it always boils down to the weight issue...... Option A :Shave head remove gall bladder, appendix and donate one kidney. Option B: Sandblast all the paint off your bike, and remove your entire brake system. Only amateurs use brakes anyway. Option C:Ride with no helmet, shirt and shoes. Gen I think this option is for your OH, he's got half of it down already!
  9. The answer is not simple. Different brands of sealant have different viscosities so the speed at which the sealant will evenly distribute throughout the tyre will vary according to brand, and minor deviations will also occur between different batches.
  10. Too much, after seeing your lily white body Im just too giddy!! Swoon I don't know what I'm missing....... MY LUNCH!!
  11. good luck and all the best
  12. One session with a rider slower than you, you need to take it steady, then one by yourself, focused and undistracted and one with a mate faster than you. This really helps me to pusher myself harder....I will kill myself chasing them down!!
  13. we have seen every thing else........ legs, watches, pets and vegetables.......
  14. Lets start the thread and then the girls vote!!!
  15. A prang should be accompanied by a tale of high speed or gnarly technical....this qualifies for neither...except a belly flop award
  16. My boy, Luke wearing his favourite cycling shirt, fixing his bike with dad.
  17. Yup.....thats them!! I think those earrings are the perfect mother in law gift!! And the part about how they maintain the pets self esteem???
  18. Like those strange people who have their male dogs "fixed" and then have a pair of implants inserted to maintain aesthetics. True story
  19. Ha ha you are normal then. Its people who collect human hair and toe nail clippings we must worry about!
  20. If they were given to you then thats ok. ......just starting to think you've got a fetish-thing going....
  21. I have also always had a low blood pressure, never hiccuped even when I was pregnant. Over the last year id noticed some tightness in my chest especially after training...so I went to see the doc....after three visits everything is fine....could not find anything thing wrong with my heart. I'm panicking because mom had a valve replacement and dad has just had a stent put in so family history has me on high alert. Long story short, two weeks ago I'm riding with a friend standing in the saddle pushing hills hard together. I'm breathing hard, thinking boy... I need to get fitter. When we got to the top of the hill my friend pointed out to me that I am wheezing. A few days later, with my Asthavent pump I feel like a new person......My point...don't ignore any symptoms they could be serious or minor .....but ignorance is foolishness.
  22. Tumbs, every pic I see of you, you are wearing a different pair of sunglasses!
