  1. Quanto Costa?
  2. The fatter wheels is novel. But the rest of packing stuff you buy easily in North America/Canada. Just this weekend past my brother packed the same kit configuration on his Ibis Ripley and did a 250km ride with one night sleep over at some lake. The Ibis even have extra water bottle mounts under the downtube.
  3. Eish . . . just more of the many nice bicycle things I can only dream of.
  4. This is SA made BIKE PORN . . . . The stuff I dream of at night! Perfect build.
  5. Some people might get tired "standing" and pedaling the whole time. . .
  6. Riding a Scott Genius 910 2014. Very nice bike. But the Pyga Oneten29 is like the hot girl next door . . . just keep me awake at night.
  7. Guys . . sorry. I like the Pyga Oneten29. It is such a nice bike. Just wondered if it would be lighter than my current trail rig. . . Already decided if my current frame crack or something then I'll buy a Pyga frame and transfer the parts.
  8. Craig. Awesome bike. (my dream rig) May I inquired about the weight?
  9. Just got a nice Renthal cockpit. Carbon riser bar and stem. (can not get the picture to post! )
  10. NICE!!! Who/where is the Niner dealers or distributors in SA? I can not find info on the Niner website.
  11. The pic is slanted to the right. The horizon is not horizontal. But still a very cool impressive pic.
  12. Thanks for the info so far. I have researched some and nearly bought a Lincolin at one stage (think it was about 40k) Was at the Lincolin demo and everything. Then the agent lost the import contract or something. So it is not available any more. But then I heard I had to rent the Argon cylinder and that pissed me off. I saw in your answer in the other thread that the cylinder rent is not as expensive as I thought, so now I am planning again. I saw that one can get TIG/MIG units now for less then 7k, but what the deal if the Miller, Lincolin and R-Tech goes for 40-60k? Like a Makro MTB vs Santa Cruz Talboy LT? Like when I nearly bought a pipe bender for 4k . . . and when I explained to the sales person how I the thing to work and the pipe must not collapse at the bend ext, it turned out the one I want starts 33k and is hydraulic
  13. Moridin. I am also interested in TIG welding. Mostly for aluminium Been doing DIY arch/stick mild steel welding for years. Have built my own camper, roof rack, bull-bars, bike rack and camping stuff. But mild steel is just to heavy. But like you (I think) one would like to upgrade to TIG. Please tell about your choice and why you chose it after you consulted with Schnoodle. Thanks.
  14. Rugby Pro ---> Commentator ------> Sponsored Epic rider Maybe in 2016 ABSA or LiguiFruit could sponsor Bobby Skinstad and Kobus Wiese . . . (I am just jealous )
  15. Bit off topic, but this makes me think of my study days. One Prof said, years back there was a study that found that the lower educated people was more accurate in being right when they say " I feel that my blood pressure is high" than more educated people. Studies might have been poorly done. (normally high blood pressure or high cholesterol is not "felt" . . . . unless your having the stroke/hart attack/aneurysm) Makes one wonder when patients say they can feel their blood pressure is high . . .
  16. According to the 2014-MDR and MIMS, Probenecid is only marketed by the company, ASPEN, as 500mg tablet, with the tradename PROBEN. Not combination tablets with probenecid is on the SA market. One will take this for gout or it will be added as an adjuvant to certain antibiotic regimes to boost the antibiotic plasma concentration and delay the excretion of the antibiotics. As said earlier, not often use, mostly used by specialists in hospital settings. Most (not all) (no offence intended at doctors please!!) GP's would have to think back to their study days if you ask them about it. I find it hard to believe ANY pharmacist would be such a moron as to give a Schedule 3 drug to anybody without them knowing it.
  17. Wyatt that is a very good point. The chances are MUCH better that some fu**ed up the test and that the drug was never in his system. And they (the governing body /testers) are more likely to settle for a BS story than admit incompetence. It might seems that I am doing a 180. But I only ever had a problem with "contamination of the capsules story". But all this speculation and expert opinions is just farts in the wind. Bottom line . . . Daryl can race again. That is good.
  18. How long does it stay? Probenecid peak plasma concentration after taking dose is 3-4 hours. Then half life is 2-6hrs,meaning if the plasma concentration was 150microgram/ml after 5hrs its 75 micogram/ml another 5hrs its 37.5microgram/ml and so forth. The concentration drops quickly below the therapeutic dose (that is why the dose for treating gout can go as high as 2 gram twice a day). But is can be detectable in the blood for some time. This is in a case where the drug was taken on purpose. NOT applicable in the case in question where the starting point was possible trace amounts. (whiskey tot in the Olympic pool). "how hard it would be to pick up that tiny amount of banned substance" Quite hard. Tablets are mostly blister packed or packed in dispensing quantity in the factory (Packed of 30 Myprodol) Especially the retail pharmacy in moving away from counting out of the container of 5000.(Not speaking for national health care system and big hospitals) Even in cases of counting tablets out, you should be the only person to ever touch your tablets. In my opinion band substance contamination from you meds. . . . much better chance at the Mega Millions or some European lotto. (I'm not saying form other sources) If your pharmacist manage to contaminate you with a banned substance . . . . I have no words . . . Contamination resulting in an allergic reaction do to allergy for the contaminant . . .have been documented. (Take note: I like Daryl, I want to see him race . . wish there was never this whole shitty issue, but I struggle to believe this scapegoat)
  19. Is has happened. Patients meds have been contaminated by pharmacist/staff not following good practice (also know as logic) It will again. But it is uncommon. Car crash or Hijacking more likely to get you. Problem with this explanation for vindication is as follows. The pharmacy must have had the Proben 500mg (probenecid) in stock and dispensed it in a reasonable time frame before the gelatin capsules was purchased. Proben is not very often used. Only one company in SA markets it. I estimete 90% of pharmacies don't keep in on stock, it just stands on the shelve and expires. (not good for business) Mostly in hospital pharmacies, or pharmacies near specialists and or dialysis centers. Gelatin capsules is cheap. 500 caps for R 70, 00. According to one news report the pharmacy did not have the capsules in stock but got it later and it was collected. So: The Proben had to be in stock, and counted out on the counting tray to be dispensed. The Proben Tablet had to give of a fair amount of powder on the dispensing tray. (they are fairly hard and don't really give off) I presume they where not pulverized on the counting tray. Then the pharmacist had to count out some gelatin capsules for Daryl on the same counting tray in a reasonable time after the Proben and dispenced it to Daryl. Why would a pharmacist take the caps out of a sealed container to count out and keep rest on the shelve if the stuff is dirt cheap? It was not in his usual stock inventory. Again bad business. Sell the whole container. It is weird that a person would want only 30 caps for R4.20. Now if this all really happened, consider the very very trace amount of probenecid on the gelatin caps. You will all say "but they test for trace amounts!". But you're more likely to blow positive at the spietkop after emptying your tot glass in the Olympic swimming pool and then drinking of the water. You have a better chance to get the perfect storm in my opinion. Edit: spelling.
  20. Skepticism not needed to call bullsh*t by its name. And also making headlines: ANC have proof that Zuma paid for Nkandla himself ! I was glad to hear that Daryl was cleared, but with that "proof". . Give that spin doctor a BELLS!! He can be glad he did not test positive for every other banned substance the pharmacist handled that day or perhaps any estrogen derivatives given daily to the menopausal ladies.
  21. I have "Googled" it a lot a few months back. Also want to make my own. Here is some links.
