  1. That one thing looks like a Nuk breast pump.
  2. Very good looking ride that!!
  3. Been pondering/dream about a Monster Cross form time to time. Would like to able to take my current rigid trail bike and monster it with minimum input. Something like slapping on some drop bars and Shimano road cockpit and off I go. But have the follow questions regarding the current Shimano Road Hydraulic leaver/shifter assemblies. 1. Is the brake hose, gland, retaining/lock screw assemble the same as in the current Shimano XT spec. In other words, will I be able to disconnect my XT brake levers and connect the hoses to Shimano Road Hydraulic brakes, bleed, and Bob's your uncle. 2. Will a 10- or 11-speed hydraulic road brake/shifter shift a 10- or 11-speed XT rear derailleur properly? Thanks in advance to the gurus . .
  4. I though Frank was pulled from commentating about the Tour De France.
  5. Jip, so true. Thanks Sh. . .t Happens if an "ou ballie" watch to much World Cup Down Hill on Sundays, and then think his 29er will behave on the jumps like his BMX did when he was 17 . . . .
  6. Had follow up today. Before and after. No trails on the rigid SS for a while.
  7. This looks like just the bike to compliment my orange Salsa El Mariachi SS.
  8. And? How do you like it?
  9. Not sick, but came down hard yesterday. (Been Watching to much Downhill on Sundays) Will be off the bike for some weeks.
  10. Instructions on the toptube . . . . ride it "commando"
  11. I like this a lot!! Keep them pics coming.
  12. NICE!! Where did you get them nice handle bars?
  13. That is one GOOOOOD looking bike!! (the only bike that I'll trade my Salsa for.)
  14. Does not matter what dropper post you get, your riding and enjoyment will go up a notch or two.
  15. Also bought the Feva star seat. Nice thing is it can quickly be swapped between or taken off the bike. My boy is 15 months and just loves it. He goes and fetch his helmet and brings it to me when he wants to go for a ride. I had to start hiding his helmet during the week.
  16. Thanks. I looked at the Gates Carbon belt . . . but man . . I'll be damned it I cut a joint in the rear triangle, or let anybody do it . .. I am just not liberal (aka "skytbang" ) enough to do that.
  17. So 3" tire in the front and normal at rear? I also like that idea. But Came across this in my "krampus research." They did basically that in pic #4 with the BERGAMONT Revox http://twentynineinches.com/2012/10/29/surly-krampus-final-review/ They did not like it to much . . . but that is just them and it was a light carbon hardtail. You might have a totally different setup. Just thought I'll share the info. I hope it helps.
  18. As seen in this thread, I just built my 1ste SS. Spent nights pondering Suspension fork or rigid. Went rigid as it is what I sort of wanted and I already have a 130mm FS. With the Niner fork and the carbon bar I must say the ride is much smoother than I anticipated. Make no mistake it is still a rigid fork and riding style have to adjusted. I'd say: If you do have another suspension bike is the stable, go rigid. If it is your only mountain bike, get a nice high end XC fork with lockout. What about . . . . . a Lauf Fork . . .
  19. If spiteful pro riders, who visit get hold of this we can kiss KOMs goodbye . .
  20. First ride this weekend and first SS ride for me since my BMX at school. Did a 50km gravel travel up our local pass. Ride is much better than I expected, especially coming down, I though i was going to be all over the place. I like this rigid SS thing!
  21. I can tell you, but then I'll have to . .. . . . . Budget was doing very OK, waited for specials to by stuff. Like that Easton Carbon bar was on 58% discount!! Things went pear shaped at the Wide Lightning wheels and the NINER fork.
  22. Thanks for the kind words. Now I will just have to get my lame, full suspension, geared ass to HTFU.
  23. Thanks for all the advice and help from all you Hubbers. It was much appreciated.
  24. Done in time for the long weekend. Was suppose to be a budget build, but me and the wife's idea of budget was a bit different. The allure of some Easton and Niner carbon and Thomson bits was just to much. Then I also got bliksemed by the Wide Lightning talk and had to have some. The Mariachi. On the Couch . . . .(wife was sleeping already) (10.2kg)
