  1. Perhaps a dumb question. Must this New XT M8000 be used with the 11 speed chain? 10 speed Shimano chain will not work?
  2. All this new "relatively affordable" XT bling gives me some big itches . . . Say suddenly, overnight I need to replace my current beaten up XT M785 crank with one of them shiny new XT M8000 ones . . . Does it fit into the same bottom bracket as my current crank? How do I know witch chainline to choose 50mm or 53mm?
  3. Could not have said it better.!! Looking as American Classic Wide Lightning wheels. (Hope they are strong enough) Otherwise a Stans Arch EX build. Any other suggestions? Fork . . .?! I have no forking idea yet. Have access to two 2nd forks, one rigid carbon, one Fox Float Fit. But their steering tubes are both actually little to short. Will keep the build posted.
  4. Thanks Guys. Will stay with 175mm.
  5. Some help from the SS gurus please. As can be seen I am starting a SS mtb build. Still need to decide on a crank. Wondering if a 180mm crank will help with the extra leverage or should I stay with the 175mm crank as on my other bicycles? Would the extra 5mm really give a perceivable advantage or would it be "all in my mind"
  6. Yellow Santa from DHL dropped this today!!
  7. First parts arrived this morning.
  8. This is like a Land-Rover Hardtop. You have neither the benefits of the Pickup nor the Station Wagon. Just a compromise that does not do anything particularly good.
  9. Got this yesterday! Super exited for my build. Been dreaming of a steel single speed mtb for a long time
  10. "incredibly short 430mm chainstays"
  11. Quanto Costa?
  12. The fatter wheels is novel. But the rest of packing stuff you buy easily in North America/Canada. Just this weekend past my brother packed the same kit configuration on his Ibis Ripley and did a 250km ride with one night sleep over at some lake. The Ibis even have extra water bottle mounts under the downtube.
  13. Eish . . . just more of the many nice bicycle things I can only dream of.
  14. This is SA made BIKE PORN . . . . The stuff I dream of at night! Perfect build.
  15. Some people might get tired "standing" and pedaling the whole time. . .
  16. Got these the other day.
  17. Riding a Scott Genius 910 2014. Very nice bike. But the Pyga Oneten29 is like the hot girl next door . . . just keep me awake at night.
  18. Guys . . sorry. I like the Pyga Oneten29. It is such a nice bike. Just wondered if it would be lighter than my current trail rig. . . Already decided if my current frame crack or something then I'll buy a Pyga frame and transfer the parts.
  19. my bad . . .
  20. Craig. Awesome bike. (my dream rig) May I inquired about the weight?
  21. Just got a nice Renthal cockpit. Carbon riser bar and stem. (can not get the picture to post! )
  22. NICE!!! Who/where is the Niner dealers or distributors in SA? I can not find info on the Niner website.
  23. The pic is slanted to the right. The horizon is not horizontal. But still a very cool impressive pic.
  24. Rugby Pro ---> Commentator ------> Sponsored Epic rider Maybe in 2016 ABSA or LiguiFruit could sponsor Bobby Skinstad and Kobus Wiese . . . (I am just jealous )
