    Hasn't that got longer? 135/150? not sure if the shorter travel trance still exists? When most manufacturers are making a trailversion of their XC racers you'd thought Giant would maker a version with more than a 10mm increase front & rear.

    Rim repair

    I fixed my rim which a spoke had pulled with prattley steel putty. It lasted quite a while (it was on a 26er Stans Flow rim). Have moved onto a 29er now so can't tell you how long it lasted as the bike is now hanging in the garage semi-retired. But was used for at least 6 months and still going strong.

    Living the simple good life. The story was shot a year ago in the depths of COVID, no events where happening etc, so was never meant to be upbeat.

    I'm not overly fond of the Barzo on the rear, very thin sidewalls and you need to run higher pressure. mines full of holes, plugs and always loses pressure & sealant evrey ride.

    I'm aware they're not the Cape Cobra versions, just wondered how much better the Cobra versions are? I've always ran Maxxis EXO casings in the past and they've been tough.

    What's a good tough, aggressive XC rear tyre for South African conditions? My Titan Cypher (120mm) came with Vittoria Barzo's, but they're not the tougher Cape Cobra edition. I've had so many punctures in it, thrown tubes in it after the sealant couldn't fill the holes, then pinch flatted the tubes also. Needs to be able to handle rocks (Tokai killed it). Are the Cape Cobra a lot better? Maxxis Ikon? Needs to be reasonably fast rolling, but not racing snake slick & thin.

    I fully agree. No remote lockouts and for the alloy 120mm cypher, something like marzocchi Z2, Pike select, Fox 34, etc.

    I'm 183cm 85kgs on a large, 60mm stem & 780mm bars.

    Throwing my 2 cents worth in as well. I have the alloy 120mm Cypher and it's a brilliant allrounder. I'm loving it. Bang for buck is amazing, I'll change the fork at some stage as the only thing missing in their massive cypher range is an alloy 120mm model with a decent fork.

    You can also bike to the end of Valley Rd (past Disa Bridge) and go through a small park and cross the River via pedestrian bridge. It pops you out by the old Long Kloof building on Constantia Nek

    I have the Titan cypher Comp Alloy (120mm). I love the way it rides. It just feels really planted, pedals well and amazing value for the spec.     I've just got the Cypher Comp 120mm Alloy, replacing my old school Orange 5 26er. It rides great, but will benefit from a fork upgrade at some stage, probably 130mm with 34/35mm stanchions.

    I think those Manitou Markhors are 30mm stanchions. A 120mm trail bike really needs something beefier than that. I can understand the xc one being 32mm, but 34/35mm is the norm for a trail bike.

    It's a shame the alloy cypher 120 has such spindly forks. A 34mm or 35mm stanchion option would be nice.

    Whats even more insane is that the 2021 models are now out. In 2020 the Alloy elements were discontinued.
