  1. @ Weight Weenie - I've only seen them with a white or red stripe Sample pic.
  2. Aniki - Cannonball (original mix)
  3. Awesome combo and no problems with Stans. You could run the mountain king backwards for additional grip but rather look at running a wider tyre up front, got a 2.4 on my one wheelset and it rocks. Also look at a racing ralph (rear) and rocket ron (front) combo from Schwalbe.
  4. lol Thor the unwashed and Olga a re chilling on the beach. You in Centurion? If so I'll give you a shout tom and come past for a coffee. My old man is also out there.
  5. BB You are way to fast mate!
  6. It always good to learn new interesting ways to fall on your face. Count me in.
  7. Bud Take your 160K and buy a hilux! Think I saw a 2.7 single cab in fourways for about 140K. If you go a generation older you can pick up a double cab for that price.
  8. Thats pretty but this is HOTT!
  9. Has anyone used the KCNC disc brakes? There stuff is usually pretty light?
  10. Morningside Cycles would be the obvious choice. http://www.morningsidecycles.co.za/cms/ I've never had my machine serviced there but its a very professional shop run by nice guys. Def worth a look.
  11. Thumper

    Bar ends.

I have 2 pairs I alternate between: Cane Creek - best comfort for long distance KCNC - Bling and very light, better for quick races
  12. Give Sidi a skip, there isn't an agent in SA anymore. Specialized Pro carbon are the business (got 2 pairs myself) You should be able to pick up an 08 pair for about R 2,5K Carbon soles provide the best power transfer cause of their stiffness. Not great for the hike a bike bits but then who actually walks those anyway
  13. Thats it! Out with the XTR and hello X0
  14. Thanks Mark. I started out looking at the Merida 96 carbon 3500 and the Scott Spark 30, then had a mate offered me his canaan at a decent price.
  15. I'm looking for a decent cross country dual suspension race machine. Is this worth considering
  16. I currently run 2 wheel sets. Got crossmark 2.1's on the one with mountain king 2.4's If things are really wet or loose the mountain kings rock. The crossmark's like the harder dry stuff.
  17. Recon a silver blue combo will look sweet. Just be careful, not all blue's are the same.Pick a brand and stay with it. Hope is quality stuff. I ran into trouble with my all red KCNC bits.
  18. Do you have a colour you want to run throughout your whip? Think about matching your bar ends, seatpost, jockey wheels .... to your hub and rims. Industry 9 are def the most bling. Also look at the crankbros cobalt and iodine wheel sets.
  19. I've been running the MK2.4 UST for about 8 months now and no issues. Bent a few spokes, pretzeled a bar end but no issues with the rubber.
  20. Thats unlucky Nathrix. I bet there were a few retirements from the race. Think I saw 2 chains next to the trail and more water bottles (in cages) that I could count.
  21. It was pretty nasty. I saw guys pushing up it on the first lap. What is considered a good time for the 38Km? I went round in 2:19
  22. I saw a guy with a video camera running around on the back of a quad but that was about it. Was hoping there was a pic of that nasty hill to show the guys at the office.
  23. Anybody know if there are pics available?
