  1. Is it a marked track or you follow maps or something?
  2. It had nothing to do with council at all. The building went up without the necessary paperwork in order and now the owner/s bitching about it. There's a lot more to it than council dicking around with it.
  3. Looks wicked! How about some more details, time taken and stuff like that? Easy or hard?
  4. From the sounds of it, there was no clear sprayed on. If you use a buffing/rubbing compound it should polish out, but you'd still need the clear finish. This is definitely a factory fault I reckon.
  5. Asked and answered, thank you
  6. So it adds no strength to the wheel or anything like that?
  7. I been building my own wheels for a little while now and thanks to far too many hours in front of the google machine, I've discovered that "tied and soldered" spokes is the ultimate in wheel building. My question is, how come if it's so good no one seems to do it today? Is it like a dying art form or something? Also, is it really that beneficial to the rider and longevity of the wheel? I'm really keen to find out more and maybe even try it, anyone else got/seen/heard of this?
  8. The wheelset or the truing stand?
  9. With the amount of christmas food I plan to wolf down, I have to ride or burst, no other option
  10. That sux. A picture might also help though.
  11. Ooops sorry, supposed to be 34X16,
  12. You may be right about this
  13. Popped into the shop this morning. Although they not officially open, you can just knock on the door and visit a bit. They are also busy moving stock across the road so may be a little busy. The shop looks really good though and everyone's pretty friendly. Really hope this works out for them. Must mention that in the short look I had, didn't really see any other brands than specialized.
  14. Shelldon also rode a 1X3 as well, manually moving the chain when the terrain called for it. I stick to a 36X16 for pretty much everything, slowly but surely I find I'm definitely climbing hills that much better. I do have one complaint though, for too often on the flats I'll be spinning my butt off and I'll be forced to move over for the old guy on his game special that's charging past me thanks to his steeped gearing... aargh, guess I'm just going to have to get a steeper ratio or learn to spin faster!
  15. Stopped by there at 6pm on my way to pnp. Sign on the door say "temporarily trading at Waterfall shopping center".
  16. Where is it open? When did it open? I was there at 9am and the windows were still papered over?
  17. Interesting development, the store that already had shopfitters doing their thing inside, appears now to be moving across the road to Waterfall Shopping Center instead. Might be due to the fact that Link Hills Shopping center is has still to be passed by council. Going to move in where the old Wimpy was (which means that the Wimpy is now not coming back?). Maybe open next weekend. This is going to be one short-lived store I'm afraid
  18. I was there this morning, it's not open yet
  19. I've had loads of experience spray-painting as well as with rattlecans and that finish looks excellent. Yup, rattle cans can take ages to dry out properly, more so if the humidity is really high or temperature's really cold.
  20. There's really not much to convert, you could put suspension on the front and that's it. As for being a dirtjump bike, not sure if that's such a good idea on this bike, trails would be fine I think. Hard to tell in the pic but is that a spot of rust on the top-tube where it joins the seat-tube?
  21. To everyone who participated, you guys are just awesome, well done!
  22. That looks really nice! I'm guessing the frame was powdercoated? How about some decals?
  23. Not sure how it's going to work, but the "keep hillcrest beautiful" people reckon it's going to happen, starting with the path linking up kloof to hillcrest and then onwards.
  24. I read that once this water pipe has finished being laid down, it will leave a concrete "cover" over it that's be about 3m wide, this will then be turned into a cycling/jogging path
  25. Hope they caught the w@anker, that type of action is enough to get you locked up for the rest of the day
