  1. Flipping funny but true
  2. It says he is going to help establish testing protocols. What disappoints me is he says he has no info regarding supply or any any info on anyone else involved. He say he acted on his own. Didn't know you could make EPO
  3. What is very disappointing is no attempt to provide any useful information. An old style unapologetic doper. No place for this type in cycling anymore
  4. I really admired Fignon but it was watching LeMond win against Fignon that really got me interested in the sport. I was visiting family in Hawaii when I read his book many years ago. It is all about association I guess.
  5. Actually I don't have an issue with LeMond but I believe the best person to run cycling needs to have exceptional administrative abilities, as in an MBA or equivalent and a background in anti doping
  6. Sorry Mellow. I am in a really foul mood today.
  7. No dude. I'm saying the suggestion to put a businessman in because you can't trust the morality of a cyclist is patently ridiculous. The bit about Julius was sarcasm. Have no idea where you got the idea that I thought an ex cyclist would have prevented the banking crisis. The reference to the banking crisis was an attempt, obviously fruitless, to show that businessman are not necessarily examples of moral rectitude. Does that help?
  8. Get a business man in from the corporate world? Really? Where was everyone during the last economic meltdown. How about Julius rather
  9. I know!!! Lance!!!! I mean he even made substantial donations to the UCI so we know he cares about the organization. Who could possibly be better for cycling. I mean he practically invented winning!!!
  10. We don't but he has always been loudly against doping and against the most famous alleged doper who shall go unnamed until I fetch my flame retardant underwear from my forum drawer His times up the well known climbs and on the regular stages are also a lot slower than the big speed increase that occurred in the alleged EPO era. But we don't know. There are no guarantees in life. Surprised you never noticed that already.
  11. Yes I had that smell when on a long cycling tour. Was not getting enough to eat and was burning muscle. Was not aware it would happen if your protein consumption was high and you are on a reduced carb diet. Makes sense though
  12. Agreed. I would count my fingers after shaking hands with that one

    Jock 2013

One bike is a ride, two bikes is a race
  14. No way I am going to become a thief in order to punish a cheat. His cheating is his affair. My stealing is my affair. I prefer not to steal because if I do I believe that I can expect my own property rights to be disrespected.
  15. You know it. I will buy any book on cycling but imagine if LA decided to come clean in a book. Lots of people would be very very nervous I would think. It would be a great read
  16. Thin acidic coffee is the general tendency at restaurants. Hate it
  17. I don't think it will be soft. The ride to Sabie has some real grinding climbs.
  18. So no boulders and no Hilltop of course. Hardly the Jock at all but still a great route. Won't miss the icy cold start in Barbeton that's for sure. The old Jock route was really great until after Boulders. Did not enjoy the road in to Barbeton.
  19. With a small learning curve, some consistency in your processes and decent beans you will produce a far superior cup of coffee with the Breville. You will also save a lot of money Some people find the espresso machine too much effort and that is a valid point of view. I happen to enjoy making the coffee and find it no trouble at all.
  20. Doubt they go to the top of LTP. I seem to remember from the Panorama Tour that you turn left off the LTP road a short way outside Sabie and head for Nelspruit.
  21. Looks like a great route. Did the Jock years ago when it was a single stage race but lost interest when it became a multi stage race. Might like to try this route though
  22. Just saw an interview with TH on Sky. The gist of it was he is encouraging LA to come clean and admit what he had done regarding doping. TH seemed to think LA was suffering at home and coming clean would help him to feel better
  23. I have been using this machine for about a year. It has given no trouble. Not the worlds best and I struggle a little with the finer grinds as the pressure does not seem to be quite enough Still I get a great coffee from it. Quite predictable. Decent grinder
  24. Minimun speed limit on a freeway is 40. No minimum on other roads By the way it is illegal to drive on a road in a convoy. Does this make it illegal for cyclists to ride on the road in any type of group since bicycles have to follow the rules of the road and in a group they might be described as a convoy? When using a following vehicle for a club ride the general thing to do is to ride 2 abreast because it shortens the line of bikes the cars need to get around. Halves it in fact if you discount the length of the support vehicle.
