  1. That was fun ! Pity about being turned back at Chappies We were way behind, so saw the front guys come back down and turn left to go up OKW.
  2. Thorns Lots of them
  3. Looking forward to seeing more of this:
  4. The main Olympic store is pretty big and the website matches it. Not sure if the online store is fully up to date on stock and if it matches all items on the shelf. The Kenilworth store is much more modest with a website to match. Regarding stock and accuracy of items listed online: All of our favourite stores are a bit unreliable in that regard, so its often a good idea to phone and make sure before making payment.
  5. Weapon of choice: MTB or gravel bike ?
  6. That was Six Ay Emm
  7. Full Moon with some ghostly mist over Hout Bay last week
  8. Camp Ground Rd along to Liesbeek and Lower Main Rd. Church Street over onto the N1 and then peel off onto Marine Drive until you can get onto the bike lane. Cruise all the way to Melkbos. Easy. Melkbos to Mamre Rd towards Atlantis, Turn right onto the Philadelphia Rd, which goes under the N7 and you are there!

    I love things like this
  11. If the angle grinder didn't get you, then the vice will push you over the edge
  12. Should have played Thunderstruck instead
  13. And, that's a good thing, right ? I mean, so its in line with their other products ?
  14. https://www.competitivecyclist.com/rc/new-from-sram?INT_ID=AP_static-content|CC--202303---SRAM-Transmission_0-XX-SL_0_Freeform_CTA-FF_NA_20230404&ti=QVBfc3RhdGljLWNvbnRlbnR8Q0MtLTIwMjMwMy0tLVNSQU0tVHJhbnNtaXNzaW9uXzAtWFgtU0xfMF9GcmVlZm9ybV9DVEEtRkZfTkFfMjAyMzA0MDQ= We knew that they weren't going to be cheap.
  15. Reviving an old thread here Sizing is tiny and very skinny race build orientated. I popped in at their very nice shop on Somerset Rd and left there feeling more of a blimp than usual. Some lovely stuff there, so will go back before lunch, rather than after and try the tops on again. From what I could understand from the sales guy, is that Monton manufactures for other high end brands so they are legit. He didn't mention what the other brands were.
  16. I am always keen on buying new kit, but in this case I am wondering if there isn't a way of sorting out the front mech rather than getting a whole new drivetrain. Perhaps the current front mech is faulty ? Is there maybe a way of doing full outer cable to the front mech to protect it from muck ?
  17. reminds me of this
  18. I didn't know anything about it until it popped up as a 'surprise' on the Cross Cape Route. Awesome climb. Absolutely loved it (and I am not a climber), because the descent was an ordeal (on the gravel bike) !
  19. Sram batteries were in short supply that day. Many people had issues and there were none left to swap out at tech stations. If its the same team you are speaking of, they also broke a rear mech hanger the day before. Not fixable trailside AND they had the wrong one. Also had to single speed to next tech station.

Do you think that they will shorten the route ? Or maybe extend the cut-off? 🤡
  21. He looked a tad uncomfortable afterwards... I watched it a few times and am still wondering how he actually did that. Wow!
  22. Kim and Vera charging hard at the front, but where are Super Woman and Candice ?
  23. Combined value of those bikes > value of vehicle
  24. How much did they trim off ? Was it just at the end, or did they take out a loop somewhere ?
  25. I'm waiting for Hambini to pour scorn on all of you and the Sram boffins (or maybe he will like this new stuff) 🤡
