  1. In other news, Colnago is heading in the other direction: https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/the-pogacar-premium-colnago-bucks-the-market-trend-and-triples-turnover-in-three-years/
  2. Hi also contacted me about my bike for sale via FB Marketplace. Correction: I think that it was via Gumtree asking for my email address. The contact name there was Principle. And then it was Mitchell Barret via email. Similar story, but insists on paying via Payoneer. Somehow logging onto internet banking and doing a normal EFT isn't secure... Anyway, I said: 'Funds into my FNB account - cleared before the 'pickup agent' collects. Otherwise no deal.' He didn't like that, so we don't have a deal.
  3. For those curious on size, Varia RTL515 vs Trek CarBack Radar (via Reddit). Pity the mounts aren't the same in the photo (both seatpost) The Trek one seems very chunky indeed!
  4. If you are in comms with head office, perhaps ask if there is a published list of un/acceptable saddles. A secret list is just too easy to hide behind.
  5. I think that the 715 is chunky compared to the 515 (150 vs 70g) Not that the weight is an issue, its just twice the size. Perhaps, once its on your bike, you don't notice. But I have a mate who had one on a mount below the saddle, and it looked massive. In comparison, the Trek CarBack unit is 90g Its shorter, but wider and fatter than the 515. What I like about the Garmin units is that they 'panic' flash when a car is getting closer. Not sure if the Trek unit changes its flash pattern.
  6. I have been collecting bits since November and then built it up again over the last 3 weeks. (New gruppo, wheels, tyres, bar, stem, seatpost etc.) It feels fast and smooth. Disc brakes and Di2 are an amazing upgrade over the previous gen Ultegra.
  7. To answer my own question: Not going to be here for a while. It needs to clear all sorts of hurdles with electronics and frequencies and permissions and red tape and admin.
  8. Any idea on price and and availability here in SA?
  9. Heaven forbid that anyone takes responsibility of their own actions! It's seems that everyone is just a victim of their own circumstances...
  10. Doing a course (or downloading Youtube) is one thing - having a reasonable collection of tools is another...
  11. That explains why she went so quiet after last year's Epic. Her and Candice were riding such a great PR wave after the stick incident etc. So sad
  12. +1 for Teng Tools! You can take them in to get calibrated (what's the use of a tool like this if it isn't accurate ?)
  13. Crikey! That's just down the road from me. Thanks for posting Glad you are (mostly) OK

    The Classics

Kim le Court rode well too!
  15. Was his offer reasonable ? Is he based on an oil rig ? Is he buying the bike for his nephew ? Will he pay via Skrill Will he send a driver to collect ?
  16. I don't know much about the property prices, but the Plettenberg Bay area has a lot to offer in terms of Mountain Biking. There are pro's and con's to any of the areas that will come up in conversation. Also 'reasonable' prices for property is also very relative.
  17. Blood did not reach sock Owie not worth talking about 🤣
  18. Marianne Vos celebrates 250th road win https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/a-number-you-dont-dare-think-about-marianne-vos-celebrates-250th-road-win/
  19. We did a Overberg Meander of sorts this past weekend. Grabouw to Stanford to Greyton and then back to Grabouw It got VERY hot on the 1st two days and then rained on the 3rd. bouw
  20. WHAAAT! ? That's crazy! I can buy a whole fleet of KTM motorbikes for that!
  21. The models don't look very happy. Probably how you will look if you order from there and nothing arrives.
  22. From the little bit of information that I have heard, the bricks were not random. Luckily the Savage Crew was quite big, as there were lots of 'bystanders' who appeared out of the shadows as soon as he hit the deck. Strangely, the Camps Bay police station is less than a stone's throw from this location. Also, the victim is no stranger to high jackings and incidents with cars. Heal up fast @Pure Savage !
  23. Between R300 & R400, I think. Plus postage
  24. I used CBR in Durbanville Carbon Bicycle Repair - info@carbonbicyclerepairs.co.za 083 357 4368
