  1. Houwhoek Tour entry for my wife and I. It will be her 1st multi day event and a nice goal for me to work towards after my knee op. She is fit AF, but new to MTB. I am the other way around.
  2. There was a team repairing it yesterday. Should be sorted in a day or two
  3. Since I fell off my bike (4 months ago), I bought my son a bike and then doubled its value in upgrades. And then I bought the bike I fell off new wheels, tyres, chain, cassette & chainring. I am in the process of buying my wife another bike. I have a problem...
  4. Yes, it's SO appropriate/friendly. As opposed to 'Into the Badlands' or 'Banshee'...
  5. I watched this over 2 or 3 days last week. So different to what I have been watching recently, and very well done. I really felt sorry for those f***ed up little kids. Really battling my way through this. Some very interesting concepts and great scenes, but the story line is a bit complicated. Or maybe I am not concentrating hard enough... Sticking with it just to see where it goes. Oh, and because Lt Ortega. Really looking forward to Westworld, The Handmaids Tale and Into the Badlands starting up again. I cannot believe that Suits is getting another season. Going to have to watch it because, Donna.
  6. My missus was borrowing a 14kg steel Trek with 39x53 chainring and 11-23 cassette. As a newbie, obviously battled every hill and had to walk the odd one. very demoralising. This bike has a compact crank and a nice wide cassette at the back - perfect for cruising the flats and spinning the climbs. Carbon frame is nice. Paintjob is lovely (very important), but the wheels are heavy. I would love to upgrade those at some point.
  7. vajazzle ?
  8. Its a fixed gear, so you can't freewheel to set up the bunny hop motion
  9. I made myself very popular when I got that bike for my missus
  10. I watched it over the weekend. I hadn't seen the previous 2 movies, so wasn't sure what to expect, so just kept an open mind. I think that's also what the producers thought... Not sure what sort of Sci-Fi movie was supposed to be. Action? Horror? Comedy? Drama? I went back and found the other 2 Cloverfield movies. Got motion sickness after a few minutes in the first one, and then endured the second one. Glad that series is out of my system.
  11. Lightning is a novelty for us in Cape Town
  12. Looks like it was too good looking to sit in a glass cabinet
  13. The Eye of Sauron in the off season?
  14. I haven't exercised since 30th October, and my weekly goal is still 900. It will be another month or so until I can exercise at an intensity to get me any points, let alone hit that target! Cant be bothered in contacting them and trying to get it changed
  15. for when I can ride again
  16. I thought it was a very good episode. Very different from the others, but it ended the series in limbo. I would have like a bit more conclusion to the previous 9 episodes. Obviously it sets up the next season nicely. But on the other hand, isn't this starting to drag on a bit?
  17. Sorry to hear about your crash. That's a nasty break! Hope your healing process is quick
  18. They are both Gripton compound (in case anyone is wondering)
  19. There is talk that Easter holidays may be adjusted (made longer) to reduce water demand on the schools. July holiday might be reduced to compensate. And also school sport may be cancelled in an effort to reduce the amount of laundry (dirty kit). The cooling towers water use is a big concern for many buildings. Some of which are lucky in that they can use the water they pump from their basements instead of municipal supply. Our building will not be so lucky...
  20. I don't think the guys that build and maintain the trail will rate U as fine
  21. When you open your emails on a Monday morning
  22. Interesting that the Pulse is 29'er only, but the Amp comes in both sizes. Glad to see that they are both have Boost spacing as an option
  23. They look good and seem like good value for money. Any word on a rider weight limit ? If the hubs are available separately, are the rims also going to be available for purchase?
  24. If I was in the market for a new lid, I would have a serious look at the Specialized Ambush. The price has come down from R2800 to R2000. I tried one on a while ago and it fitted my pip really nicely and was a lot lighter than it looked. https://www.specialized.com/za/en/ambush/p/132391?color=219123-132391 http://www.beelinebicycles.co.uk/images/spec/208663.jpg
