  1. David Millar refers to the Sky team bus as the "Death Star"
  2. Dammit Gummi....this bloody early. At least give me a chance to focus
  3. Thanks for the correction.... No offense As I read your post I realized that had done a year of Aerobic riding (40km plus every morning five days a week) before starting with intervals and such. I re-read your first post and would suggest martinsnyman rather follow your advice
  4. You ride...simply. 13.8 km/h is not bad at all for 8 weeks worth of cycling. BTW, I have done quite a few 100km + road races, but my longest ever training ride was 75 km. Accept that you are not going to win, so make your goal to finish strong. Do the 40 km, but I would suggest that you turn one of the road session into an interval session, and another into hill repeats. Intervals develop your ability to recover after short periods of exertion, and hill repeats makes you strong and also gets your mind over the fact that hills are tough....they become beatable on a mental level. Your biggest issue now is between your ears. Don't for one moment think you might not make it...we are far tougher than we think. Your body might not like you for a short while, just tell it to shut up.
  5. So now he qualifies as a Stormers supporter as well
  6. That is a WIN!!!!!
  7. Oops...I missed the single Panado to my left....so I have a door and a Panado
  8. Let's try again.... And the sheep-shearer only thanks his own team for bringing him back....no word about SKY sitting up. Next time they should leave the idiot

  10. Dino no likey camera methinks
  11. Raining quite a bit, but not too hard....I have seen it a lot worse last year. I think we might be ok for now. We have measured about 120 mm since yesterday, but it only rained very hard for about half-an-hour. The wind is a different story though. It's like having the big bad wolf thinking we are piggies I actually saw the weather pass us across the bay, probably about 10 km from the coast, heading straight for PE, and it looked ominous
  12. KZN - ALERT: N3 Route, WIND at 98 km/h at Van Reenens Pass - proceed with caution, especially in high sided vehicles Our weather is heading up there
  13. ANNONAY, France (AFP) — Tour de France leader Bradley Wiggins said he had suffered a slight burn to one arm after being hit with a flare near the end of the race’s 12th stage Friday. http://velonews.competitor.com/2012/07/news/peloton-retaliates-after-bradley-wiggins-hit-by-flare-in-stage-12_229610

  15. @mattgoss1986 First relegation of my career...bit over the top I think. Especially the 30pts. Sorry for my @Orica_GreenEDGE team mates who worked all day.
  16. Bummer....hope it goes away quick. Can't search for the hotties with a bad shoulder
  17. At mr price sport they sell thermal underwear at the rugby section....I cycle with that and it seems to regulate the temperature changes. I tend to still wear at least two layers over that. Very true.... Damn, now I am cold. How are you guys in PE doing?
  18. Makes a massive difference to your body temp, I think you lose a lot of body heat through your feet

  22. Best Jens Voight saying of the 2012 Tour de France so far has to be from Benard Eisel: "I'm pretty sure that Jensie (Voigt) dropped his own shadow once, then came back, just to see!!"
