  5. I would do that...that is a lot of damage there...bugger
  6. Dude! Don't play!!!! Took a drive around Jbay yesterday, and a lot of people need those to get to their homes, especially in Paradise Beach, for those who know the area
  7. And it is invariably an idjut with a Hilux....
  8. Was this the Oyster bay race thingy...? That sucks, sorry bud.
  9. I would suggest new if you do not know how to spot issues...if you can find a mate who is more experienced and knows what to look for you will find some really sweet deals secondhand. I have bough three bikes secondhand, but my MTB I bought new. The problem with MTbikes is that they take a lot more punishment, so they need to be maintained a lot better...
  10. R12K will get you a fair entry level dual susser. Silverback and Merida are good reliable brands to look at. I would be scared of a secondhand MTB unles itt is hardly ridden, or from a reputable seller (read, "No Gumtree") unless you know how to spot problems.
  11. Stealing from TT bikes
  12. My Garmin once had a max recorded of 210 km/h....was in my buddy's jacket pocket when he took his ZX14 for a spin
  13. This technology, as any technology used for speed monitoring has to be certified regularly to ensure accuracy. If the appropriate certificates do not exist you have a valid defense for a court case. But, taking into account the cost of time wasted at the court and sometimes the cot of a lawyer, just pay the fine (you did speed), or just don't speed (my personal favorite)
  14. We have had flood warnings in the area again...I suspect the TB will be a rough ride this year. I am also not too sure of the state of the roads, as heard from farmers in the area. Apparently traversing by car is almost impossible, and they do not know when the road will be fixed. If the current rainfall continues it will almost definitely become a 4x4 only road, if that much. It might only be bikes and 4-wheelers that will be able to ride the road (support vehicles) I would make sure with the organizers, who would scout the route closer to the time, just so you guys are prepared better. Sorry
  15. Be open before start time....lots of people will have forgotten something
  16. I only use water for training rides, and I ride before eating...but that is for normal rides. Anything above 2-2:30 I will take some 32gi and maybe a granola bar or something. I tend to lose abot 1.5 kg per month that way (when I am riding, now it is winter )
  17. I burn about 1800 calories in my 1h30 ride.....
