  1. Yep, was one of the guys rushed near the American Embassy. We all avoided physical contact. I just think the perps lack originality in choosing location. One had what looked like a firearm wrapped in cloth. May not have been, but wasn't too keen to have a close inspection. We all got away fine. Everybody is peachy. Thanks.
  2. While on the Scott topic. Anyone know where to source the integrated hanger that came with their CR1 road bikes of old? Tried Crown Cycles here in Cape Town and think I tried to get hold of agents once. Will watch for response to original topic as well.
  3. Well that's a pretty well thought out & logical theory.
  4. From what I've seen first hand under experimental conditions i.e. road tyre off bike being pierced, just fine.
  5. You got a mate to bring Enduro Seal from the States? Mmm...the product is made in Cape Town, South Africa. Suspect you're confusing products mate.
  6. Anyone say Epic? Not Friday, sorry. Does seem somewhat of a better value proposition. And no, unfortunately they haven't offered me a freebie to say this. I'm open to it though, I'll sell my soul....
  7. It's wet suite legal pretty much always. Never known it not to be. Normally a max of two people who will do it sans wet suite.
  8. Only Saturday morning.
  9. ENDURO SEAL works, I've seen with my own eyes how Shawn ( Head Honcho, Owner, CEO ) from ENDURO SEAL will mutilate a perfectly good tyre to prove that. Will be out on a ride & start piercing holes in his own tyre. And when his product came onto the market it reminded me how we often get taken for a ride on price. Disclaimer, he is a frenemie of mine. But hey, the product works...
  10. I'll agree, it was brutal. Combination of course & conditions. Not your typical flat bike tri course, add wind and it makes for an interesting challenge. The other two legs weren't exactly a walk in the park either. Found sighting in the swim a bit problematic with chop. Well done to those finishing.
  11. Authorised theft? That is my question with regard to the R100 plus added on to the Iron Man South Africa event entry for "Easy Registration", not like it looks like you had the option of "difficult registration". Certainly led down one path. Someone is making some tidy money. This is down right unacceptable. Once you've filled in everything you come across this additional bill. Regardless of whether it is the service provider (Easy Registration?) "earning" the money or the event it's unacceptable & deceitful. This insidious practice is one South Africans need to make a noise about. It all needs to be upfront, not tacked on at the end. A fuss over R100 plus? Times that by number of entrants...
  12. Servicing forks is a licence to print money. Make a fork bad enough & you will have to service it (via the agents) every 4 months guaranteeing a nice income stream. Work out how much that lot comes to & you will be horrified. Front fork plus rear shock. Always make a product that is not durable & preferably needs constant servicing. Continuous money spinner.
  13. Topic a bit disappointing. Expecting to hear about people cycling & smoking simultaneously. Seen it done!
