  1. My 120 Finally built and ready for the trails. Big thanks to TrailTech for the majority of the build kit. First Ride out at Karkloof was phenomenal. So stoked with this bike
  2. so ive ordered all the parts for my 120 build except my derailleur and shifter. Im going xt 1x10 , 42tooth expander on the rear , 32 up front. any one know if I need a long cage derailleur or will a medium be fine? advantages / disadvantages ? and if any one has one in immaculate condition for sale let me know
  3. Really ? You find the rev lets the rest of the bike down .. Then maybe I should cross that off my options list
  4. Yeah the site just says 140mm recommend. Trying to decide what fork to get . Have the pike on my trance , was thinking of moving it over if possible but maybe not. The dvo diamond is so tempting, but pricy .. Other wise maybe I should just go rs revelation .
  5. I haven't decided yet.. but quite possibly will see how she rides when I finally find everything I need .. Question to all those in the Know.. can I run a 160mm pike on my 120 frame ?
  6. Very excited to have just joind the family ! Can't wait to do this build !! Any component suggestions welcome
  7. Take your shirt off !! #evanwouldbeproud
  8. I just caught myself thinking about where I will find the nearest lift....
  9. Please let me know how you went about doing this ? I have a sid fork that's sitting at 90mm that could do with some more travel. It's got the markings on the stachons so I'm guessing it's possible. Where did you get the air spring from and what sorta costs are involved if you don't mind me asking ?
  10. I did... I'll admit, I might have a slight problem.. haha..
  11. Sold my anthem which was gathering dust thanks to my Trance, and bought this nifty little toy ....
  12. Haha. I'm just bitter because I got the model below yours ( 2 bike ) and I cannot fit my 2 bikes. Tried everything. But apart from the spacing , great product
  13. nice.. just remember Thule's equation to how many bikes will fit on the rack.. =N-1 (N= number of bikes advertised)
  14. Great story!! brought back a flood of memories from a recent trip to Amsterdam where I rented a similar machine. It such a stark reality check in country where bicycles are the main for of transport as opposed to here where we use them for recreation. You start to resect the simplicity of 2 wheels that get you from A to B.. no one judging you on how old and rickety your bike is. Seems to be such a competitive culture here in SA, where we all want the latest and greatest. Over their no one cares for that. so long as the wheels turn.... ( infact you probably want your bike to stand out as little as possible. more chance of finding in the street where you left it ) Much Respect , Enjoy
  15. Some good points there !! You must have spent a small fortune on those component upgrades. I did the big ones first. Pike before it even left the store, then wheelset. Recently the ice tec rotors. Stock breaks still.. may go xt at some point. Settled on a giant dropper. Being fitted in the morning. But I suppose you're right, bike like a trance we not overly concerned about weight. Because it's Damn capable !!
  16. To be honest , so far I've had no probs with the stock NN.. running them tubeless, they sealed well . Maybe the Hans will have better grip but so far I haven felt the need. Where else can I drop some weight ? 1x 10? carbon bars ?
  17. This is how you do it weighs in at about 13.1kg according to my bathroom scale. will probably add a Giant dropper this week. unless any one a better suggestion ?
  18. Great review. Love my 2015 trance. The anthem is gathering cobwebs at the moment. Mine has a few upgrades , but nothing wrong with the stock components. Definitely recommend the trance.
