  1. Hi Dean, I'll let the Bike Hub community vouch for Bike Hub Pay. We obviously back it too. Just one thing worth knowing as an international buyer: Bike Hub Pay payouts are made to South African bank accounts only. As the buyer you should be able to make an international payment to Bike Hub, but if a refund were ever needed, getting funds back to a UK account is complicated. Though if you have a South African account, this won't be an issue. Nick Bike Hub
  2. Trains don't usually run on a Sunday. There are no standard times. It'll come out eventually. Just itching to get planning finalised.
  3. The 2026 event guide references train timetables, but they don't seem to be on the website yet. Has anyone managed to find them?
  4. There could also be a clash with an extension. Try loading Bike Hub in an Incognito window. If that works, disable extensions one by one to find the culprit.
  5. Thanks for reporting this. That’s the same setup I use and I haven’t experienced the issue. Corrupted caching would be the most likely cause, but you’ve already addressed that. I’ll bounce a few ideas around with the team and get back to you. One other thing to check: are you ever using a VPN or connecting from an unusual IP address? We have spam and bot prevention rules in place that can occasionally affect genuine users.
  6. You can change your username here: https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/settings/profile No.
  7. Hi Steve, When making a Bike Hub Pay offer, no personal details are shared. The seller will see your username, which may or may not be personal. Depending on the chosen delivery method, limited location information (such as town and province) may be visible to help both parties estimate shipping costs. Once the offer is accepted and the deal is confirmed, additional details (such as name and phone numbers) are shared so that both parties can finalise the transaction with each other.
  8. I’m not sure why our NPS survey is relevant but our score is currently 80! Which we’re pretty chuffed about.
  9. A quick reframing. The dealer side of things is very healthy. In October, we hit multiple usage records across our metrics. Many businesses and backyard traders see the value, and we put a lot of effort into maintaining those relationships, regardless of their size. There’s a lot of whataboutism around a few dodgers, while in reality, the dealer community is happily benefiting from working with us.
  10. The definition is on our dealer page. First question in the QAs: Who is a dealer? If you're using Bike Hub's classifieds section as part of the course of business, re-selling new or used goods, or offering services we regard you as a "dealer".
  11. We’ve considered charging accounts that reach a certain posting volume, mainly to monetise high-volume users who are clearly getting value, rather than to catch dealers. The tricky part is intent, not just volume. Some high-volume users aren’t dealers, and some dealers post less often. Because some people actively hide their dealer status, we don’t always catch it. Usually, we act when it’s reported by the community or we notice it ourselves. And then we inevitably spend a morning tracking down their new duplicate private account that pops up shortly after, or explaining to them why they are considered a dealer when they insist they are not. Ideally, they would simply categorise themselves correctly from the start. Every new users is asked to do so before posting their first advert.
  12. You got caught violating both our fee-dodging and multiple-account rules, then accused us of discrimination and now I’m expected to just ignore that and work with you? If someone stole a bike you were selling and called you racist for asking for it back, would that be a situation where trust could simply be rebuilt and moved past?
  13. There’s a report button on every advert and profile page. If you have concerns about other accounts, please use that to report them privately if you prefer. I’ve noted the accounts you mentioned and will investigate them in due course. You know how to contact us directly, but I’m responding here because this is where you chose to raise the issue.
  14. Admittedly, it’s not a perfect system, but we do our best with the information we have. If people were honest and labelled themselves correctly, it would be way simpler and fairer for everyone. The truth is, we can’t always know what’s going on behind an account, and constantly having to act like a security guard is frustrating and eats up a lot of our time. We make business decisions knowing they won’t please everyone, and that some people will walk away. Those decisions aren’t taken lightly. We monitor feedback and real data, and some churn is just part of the process. We’ve looked at a subscription model many times, but when we apply it to actual dealer behaviour, the range is so wide we’d end up needing multiple complicated tiers. Pay-as-you-list is far simpler and fits all use cases. What kind of subscription are you thinking? Keep in mind, to maintain the same revenue it wouldn’t automatically be cheaper. We'd be charging for the full usage of whatever the subscription tier allowed and if you reach the limits, you'd be stuck or have to spend more. The current fee structure could use some tweaking, we haven't looked at it for awhile, and there might be room to adjust the higher end as you suggest. At the same time, we’d like to put some restrictions in place for the freebies below R500; some accounts have hundreds of them.
  15. Thanks for your message. We always welcome feedback. We've discussed this with you previously, and our position remains unchanged. But I suppose you're wanting public input and not ours? Since our last conversation, you created an account specifically to avoid dealer fees and have been operating two accounts in parallel for over a year; one as a dealer with adverts below the fee threshold, and the other as a private account for higher-value items that would otherwise incur fees. Although this is a serious violation of at least two of our rules, the only action taken was converting your latest account to a dealer profile rather than suspending all three accounts (that we can identify) entirely. Regarding the account you highlighted, we cannot make broad assumptions based on a profile name or photo. That leads to inaccuracies and discrimination. Additionally, that user self-selected as a dealer from the outset. As always, if you notice any accounts operating as dealers without the appropriate classification (as was the case with your own activity), please report them. We investigate all such cases thoroughly.
  16. Yes, we can hold the payment for that period until you’ve received the bike. If you’re planning to meet the seller in person, please select the “in-person collection” option when making your offer. This will help you avoid needing to enter courier details and other delivery information.

    Gravel burn 2025

Stage racing is a cult. Riding for eight days is not representative of most cyclists' riding habits or aspirations. It's not a good sample for making conclusions about the cycling community as a whole.
  18. A start is to hit the report button on the suspicious adverts, please. We'd very much like to be aware of such things.

  20. Hi James, Your images are causing our processes difficulty for some reason. Can you please email the original images to me so that we can troubleshoot on our end?
  21. The correct procedure is to go through the SAPS. Contact the investigating officer assigned to your original case. If the bicycle is advertised on Bike Hub, please use the Report button on the advert or let us know via our support channel (the Contact Us button in the page footer). We can provide information to SAPS if they request it.
  22. If I recall correctly, we haven’t had a “Wanted” advert type for over three years. Adding WANTED in the ad title works much the same way for those looking, and searching for WANTED will show a list for those who are selling. An important note: “Wanted” ads are unfortunately a common target for scammers, as it allows them to pretend they have exactly what you’re looking for. So please be cautious.
  23. Dark mode is definitely on the cards. It’s something we’d love to add. The challenge is that, as a small team, we have to be careful about where we put our time. So far, other priorities have edged it out, but it’s not forgotten.
  24. We pushed a fix last night. It looks like the search bar was acting a bit unruly. Could you let me know if you’re still experiencing any issues?
  25. Thanks for reporting and including all this info. We'll check it out!
