  1. what is the story now with a shipment from Aliexpress which had free shipping…. got and sms and an email from Meililogistics saying I have to pay R400 duties and fees on a bike gps which cost me R 800. I have now read dozens of negative reviews about them and how they hold you to ransom if you want to receive your parcel…. Has anyone paid them and received the parcel timeously even though they obviously overcharged on the duties… or is it another scam?
  2. … but mostly protects the buyer… so if I am a seller with 50 positive reviews and I sell to a buyer with zero reviews I am more likely to lose out…so I will refuse to use it
  3. absolutely disagree with this
  4. true...but I got one locally and got ripped R450 since I needed it now..so won't be ordering the TEMU one:)
  5. that is steel I think even though the description say alloy … I think that refers to the cap
  6. for that price stick to the recommendations above or try Giros

  8. yeah, local SRAM prices are ridiculous....hope the agency changes soon...
  9. ok, sorted thanks to RA Cycles in Smst West....and they had a SRAM DUB steel extractor bolt to sell me!
  10. Can some confirm that I can use Rockshox 0W-30 suspension fluid to do the 50hr lower leg service on a Pike instead of using the newer Maxima PLUSH Dynamic Suspension Lube Light? thanks!
  11. the assembly at left is 13 g heavier than the aluminum one at right owing to the former’s steel bolt, but it also works much better. https://nminus1bikes.substack.com/p/stop-skinning-your-knuckles-on-crazy
  12. Does anyone have advice on how to remove a DUB crankset with a rounded\stripped extractor bolt? It is the alloy variety which seems crazy for a bolt that gets torqued to high values...will definitely replace it with a steel one if I can get it off. Alternatively where can I take it to be done in Cape Town? thanks!
  13. Raceking 2,2s all the way..
  14. absolutely...less weight and less maintenance from my experience I found the biggest difference when I moved to 2,2 Raceking tyres on 30mm internal width light carbon rims...way more compliant than the 3 suspension forks [Lefty Oliver, Temu 30mm and Rock Shox SID] that I tried.. suspension forks only really make sense when riding rougher singletrack...basically XC MTB territory the Lauf is not a true suspension fork since there is no rebound adjustment...so on singletrack I cannot imagine it would be great...probably better on fast rough chattery gravel
  15. I absolutely agree on Maguras...have used them for over a decade on all my bikes...never an issue
  16. post pics when you get them😉
