  3. Interesting bench you are pulling their with the two brands and series as they are just about on par with one another Here's some quick facts that I've learned between the two........Mavic's are lighter BUT....and this is a HUGE BUT.........Theit spokes they use can't be tensioned with the normal type of wheels equipment due to it being tensioned to a higher tnesion than normal wheels....... This has two major negatives to it: 1) If you break a spoke you need to stop their and then else you will destroy the wheel due to the tension being to high on the other spokes 2) No ordanary bike shop have the equipment to repair these wheels.....upto a a year back only the suppliers had the tools......and it took forever due to the amount of comebacks..... This information is quite accurate as my best friend works for the supplier whi imports these......They get warrentee claims weekly on these..... What's the take of the other hubbers out there on these wheels ??????
  4. Michelle...damm You wheren't suppose to mention my MTBiking session just afer Crus left us to see what the boys upfront where doing Well I might as well come clean....Me and M where doing at that stage about 10 kilometers together with Crux cover our backs in the Vito....as he lifted off to go see the chaps in front....We said something along the lines of " Sjoe, now we can relac since the pressure is off".......... And at that very moment I went off roading ........and at 30km per hour was actually quite scarry.......thing is I battled to get back up on the road due to the shoulder being so freaking hight.........kept jy whit for 20-30 meters and got back on the road again...........It sure was a close shave
  5. Yipp, you guys motored..........think it was only me and your better half that LSD'd this ride hey averaging between 26 and 30 odd ....... Hekpoort sis another story, there I saw where my fitness went........went up it like at 8-10km/p But hey as the saying goes, if it doesn't kill you it makes you stronger applies to me
  7. Yipp, same with me When I started I used to get up ebery single hill I rode.....as time progressed I found that sitting was way more effecient as specially when one focusses on pulling your pedal up.....which you can't really do standing unless one is on a Monster Hill Having said that I do stand from time to time to strech the leg muscles and give some vatiation .........and I had plenty of this on Saturday up Hekpoort I also agree with a lighter gear resulting in a higher cadence..one tends to settle in better into a rythm..... But you honestly have nothing to worry about by your form we saw ver the weekend..........I for one is motivated to get back my form I had three months back
  8. Yipp, have to make special mention of my fellow team mate " Michelle" for Saturdays ride...we ende up cycling together most of the route........we covered the back of the speed freaks upfront....or as they would say in the Navy......Wing Men.....and a Woman in this case Nice climbing girl up Hekpoort........I almost died up there Sure hope we can team up again with more of our caliber next time to make things interesting
  10. To Jason the orginiser & Crux & the Team & visitors From My side I'd like to thank you for a stunning ride Hmmmmmm, although one can debate whether it was a true LSD ride.......or us just not being that fit lol !!!!! None the less it was a excellent outing and a loss to all that did not make it............ Crux a BIG thank you to you as always for keeping any didgy cars off our back and the all important water and coke supplimentation I for one is now hokked on making sure that I make every club outing now.........Stunning Keep up the good work
  11. There is a local glove which is not to bad for like R110........Cycloglove.....but the fit is bad.......they pinch the crap out of you between your middle and index finger.........They got the templete compeltely wrong....... If they manage to get this fixed they will be top notch...... Bought mine at Argus........and need to get them sorted....but it's a hassle for R110
  12. Yip, I have to second you there.....if you have larger than avarage hands you tend to find the gloves pinch you between your fingers....... I have to say that Specialized range of gloves are excellent....Gel padding with a larger velcro section so you can really tighten them up........Plus they have a warrentee....so if they go they will replace them..... The biggest plus is that they actually seem't to have cut the hand profile from ppl with our hands.....they don't pinch or crease in between your fingers..........and for R250 very little can compare
  13. Guys and Gal's Ok I'm open to negotiations on the following items that I want to let go in one go: I have a Xtra Large Alimium Scott ADF Pro frame (2 years old) in excellent condition with all of the following goodies on it for R4k cash negotiable: XL frame which is a 58cm frame Scott CR 1 Full Carbon fork with carbon spacers (R200 what I paid) 2 x Amouba Scudd Bottle cages (R580 what I paid) Full carbon seat post (R1290 what I paid ) Shimano Flight Deck (R600 what I paid)
  14. No, sorry Dude....this is a road frame 909 Full Carbon...... You can try Fritz Pienaar Cycles in Pta as I have seen a couple of the Mtb bikes their that you described
  15. Hmmmm, what we have here is a failure to see detail....sorry man Between the two I know at least four times more ppl using time that Dura Ace...........and you know where my support lies. Which Time pedal are looking at getting ???? Anyone specific
  16. Hmmmmm, sorry Mampara..........you'll have to read all of our opninions and see what the end result is.......as we have a couple of die harders I think the main thing you can take from this is that the new range of Look's are "nearly" on par with Time.......Time is Time what can I say
  17. Yipp, have to agree with WW.......as specially when you start to push pull with stax of power............... Have nt seen it in indoor training but allot on the road.........in races........and that is just anoying....similar to a rattle on a bike.........enough to get road rage....well that's me anyways
  18. Yip, as you biys and gals can see me and wife to be has one major opinion difference when it comes to pedal hey What's that saying.........Having a different opinion is the spice of life ....still think I'm going to sleep on our Welcome matt at home though
  19. Hmmmm, I have to differ their my dear Wife to be Look will never be the same as Time Just like Campag will never be the same as Shimano Hmmmmm, ek slaap op Welkom vannaand All I can say is that Look has stepped up their game so it's really up to personal choice........have not hear anything bad from their new range of pedals.... Anyone got a spare blanket for me for tonight
  21. Ha, finally the Professrio has spoken.......Where have you been ?? Mailed you ealrier in the week on a coupel of things......no reply Thx for the input on frame.......yip, I'm still deciding which route to go and is actaully not in a rush Have you got your new frame yet ??? And then obviously I'm also looking at Money spent versus warrentee and back service
  22. Hendrik, Happy B...Dude....Hope you have many more happy miles with us Hubbers
  23. Dude, all will be said on this topic But from my experience you can not go wrong with Time..........I have talked to a coupel of Pro's who have switched from Look to Time due to them having had bad experiences where they pulle their cleat out of the pedal under servere power........... This seems to have been sorted with the new range of Looks..... As for me.......I'll die a Time Supporter..... The Shimano range of pedals are also not bad at all Well that's my 2 cent's worth...use it don't use it
  24. I'm in.......you can get me 10......adult one's and 10 youth one's
  25. Spinnekop, thx Dude When she comes back will you please find out if they have stock in a 59cm............ If they do and the price is right I guess I'm going to build a bike tonight for tomorrow's LSD .....Well not me my mechanic
