  1. Welcome Brawler. I have not the faintest idea about dirt jumoing except that it results in broken faces, shoulders and wallets. Good luck.
  2. Ghetto is the way to go. Works like a charm. Can be a serious mission getting the tyre back onto the rim over the bmx tube, especially with UST tyres. Don't forget to be pretty generous with Stans and use some soapy water.
  3. Ok, so I was joking. Sort of. Actually dig Aussies when they not beating us at cricket or stealing our rugby players.
  4. Go back to Australia you bloody wanker! The Republic is ours and you can't have it!
  5. Umm.. no. Incorrect. Puff adders are cytotoxic, cobras are neurotoxic. A crepe bandage is fine for either bite but not too tight. Never apply a tourniquet. Get to a hospital asap. Identifying the snake is important but don't get bitten again cos snakes will sometimes "dry-bite" at first.
  6. Haha, look at all the rookies!
  7. Where is this place?
  8. Don't think it will work. A lot of genuine sellers join only to sell something. I bought a mint Stumpjumper off a guy with only 4 posts. Nicest guy in the world and he was pretty upset with people calling him a rat on the thread. A handful of skelms have just made us super suspicious.
  9. My Gobi is awesome but it's got K:ium rails (whatever the hell that means).
  10. So my bike seized up yesterday on a chilled, flat section. Got off, found a link in the chain had twisted and that the arm of my SRAM X9 rear derailleur was slightly bent. The body of the derrailleur is fine, the derailleur hanger is straight. It's just the arm that holds the jockey wheels which is slightly bent. Now can I try to bend the arms straight again? Can the arms be replaced seperately or do I have to buy a whole new derailleur?
  11. It wasn't really angry. More irritated and concerned really. This is bad news, I hope my parcel hasn't been the victim of affirmitive shopping. Will call the post office first thing tomorrow.
  12. Nope, I'm close on 3 weeks waiting now. Think it's got to do with the @#$%ing postal workers strike. Don't know how to get a local tracking number. Sent Parcelforce an angry e-mail so hopefully they sort it out.
  13. Come to think of it... That's a box within a box.
  14. That looks like 2nd hand equipment to me...
  15. Agreed, we both only started MTBiking really recently. Never ridden road either. Of course it's gonna take some time to be able to handle the technical stuff. Small dropoff or not, I'm sure we've all fallen even on level, smooth tracks (even Azonic?) before. Definitely gonna frame the series, something to show the kids, also chicks dig hardcore dudes (as long as he gets the tooth repaired).
  16. BUMP = Bring Up My Post
  17. No idea, some dude from MIH. He was pretty helpful after the fall. Can't believe he managed to get such quality shots.
  18. Yeah, he rode on in pain for the rest of the race. Pretty good form I thought.
  19. Sorry, oh god of dropoffs. We are not worthy.
  20. He ended up losing his front left incisor, also a big lip laceration. He finished the stage, but I had to stitch him up in the afternnon. He then started day 3 but broke hi rear deraileur around 20km from the finish. Sometimes luck is just not on your side...
  21. 22. A mate and I recently did the Magalies Adventure. Things were going well on day 2 until about 45km in. We got to a nasty little, rocky dropoff. I made it down but heard a groan and a crash behind me. I looked back to see my partner eating gravel: Somehow it was all captured on candid camera! 1) There he is at the back. http://www.mihevents.co.za/Gallery2/main.phpg2_view=corenloadItem&ampg2_itemId=29478&ampg2_serialNumber=2
  23. Yeah, I'm the worst tennis player in recorded history. Not much better at this mountain-bike thing either...
  24. Yeah, suppose I should have said "forced" onto the gravel. Any excuse to get off the tarmac.
