  1. I have been just attaching it to my shoe, and never had a problem, I just push one of the shoe straps through the hole and it is attached.
  2. So enjoy it when there is a reasonable answer to a question...;-)
  3. Conspiracy theory: Maybe they do not want to load the seeding results in the event riders want to use it for re-seeding CTCT road race
  4. to be honest for me, I don't mind the wind (hopefully not famous last words), as long as it is safe enough to ride and they allow us to ride... that is what matters for me now Forecast at the moment on windy (rather not check the gust forecast)
  5. Was curious what the Beta was for the event, but 5 days on and it is still not reflecting, any ideas why it is taking so much longer?
  6. Also wondering if it is worth the effort to go vs getting someone to fetch our stuff there

  8. Agree, compared to 2017 I will rather bank that prediction, for some it is about the joy of riding, be that in the wind or rain.
  9. Also done it twice, it is really a magical event
  10. I am assuming you not referring to the "shorten" ride where most got a sub 3 that year
  11. Must say given the current predication I will take it for certain and rather bank what they predicting.
  12. I once had to bail at a race, and even though I told them at the end I should not be timed I still got a time, which luckily got corrected with an email that week. Yes you get a better seeding but that just mean you surrounded by riders that is in a different league to yourself and not very enjoyable seeing everyone pass you in the first few km.
  13. I enjoyed my own race on the 60km, but was curious are there any way that they check that 60km riders do not take the short cuts via the 40km route? Or is it all based on your own moral compass?
  14. Lets just move it to the Northern Subs, seems to be very little wind on our side predicted
  15. I think the latter, not because of the money but because it puts potentially less pressure on them in having the last few groups swell in size as a number of riders that finished come forward to ride it again. I think there is an argument to discount the second lap, but probably not by as much. If you start thinking about the logistics, if there were no costs involved or just a nominal fees to cover the small additional costs (medal, medical expenses of second ride taking more toll on the rider, etc), imagine how many riders would sign up irrespective if they have a realistic chance to make it back to the chute before the last group goes off, where now the only ones that is signing up are those that are confident in their ability to make it in time. Then again this could be probably catered for by much more stringent qualifications. Just don't see it as a black and white argument and there are much more things to consider
  16. I enjoy windy for predictions, think it is underpinned by Windguru
  17. Think we might have used all the "perfect" weather luck today at the MTB race
  18. Agree the mix for me was really well selected, yeah now and then got stuck behind a alower rider but that is par of the course as not all rider pace themselves through the full route. Lucky for me where I did ask to pass they always moved out of the way. Also smashed sub 4 which was my goal ... irrespective of the bit shorter route
  19. Ok THAT was sooooooo much fun. Parking - the best ever experience at a mtb race of this size (ok not talking about the thorns) Route markings - very clear Finish area - enough shade (if it was needed) enough food and drinks Route - very enjoyable and glad to see that it is recovering well but did still make me sad seeing the burnt stumps Marshalls - all friendly
  20. Good luck to all riding tomorrow
  21. Also not sure if some of the Charities might still have entries available
  22. Hope you get some news, seems that http://seeding.cycletour.co.za/riderseeding.aspx does not get updated with the Tour De PPA, so must be somewhere else in the background that they reseeded riders
  23. Possible, as we are PPA members
  24. My wife got a new seeding because of the Tour de PPA, so it is already in the system I think.
  25. No worries, seems that PPA / Racetec did it automatically, got a new seeding for the CTCT
