  1. FINAL WARNING We hereby inform all club members of one last warning given to us by one of our landowners (The Traverse / St Johns route), to ensure our members respect riding times, and riding only on the marked route. No further negotiations or concessions will be made by the landowner. ALSO NOTE, THAT ANY MEMBER FOUND GUILTY OF A TRANSGRESSION OF AFOREMENTIONED, WILL SEE HIS / HER MEMBERSHIP REVOKED. For those that has been with us for some time, will see a similar pattern here, which eventually cost us the famous Kliprug trail..... In general this has been a bad week for our club with a number of incidents reported by various landowners, and still sightings of members bringing along non-members unto the trails. As always, the largest portion of us are not at fault here, and the actions of the minority are to blame.....sadly, as in past, this could very well be to the detriment of the whole club. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD THAT EACH MEMBER HAS A RESPONSIBILITY TO ABIDE BY THE CLUB'S VERY SIMPLE AND BASIC RULES, FOR THE GREATER GOOD OF THE WHOLE CLUB.
  2. Just to note, seems that there are some additional "caps" on exercise points that can be earned during the year per person (apologies if someone else has already noted it) 1) Limit of 30,000 per adult or 20,000 per child 2) Limit of 1,000 for health foods 3) Limit of 1,200 for steps >10k 4) Limit of 1,000 for steps >5 OR 60%-69% heartrate
  3. Question which I could not find on here if it has been answered, if you have two garmin devices (ie Edge device for the bike and a watch), is it possible that you can get activity points on either got the most points on the day? I did a ride on Saturday, and garmin reflects the ride, but the points was not loaded, rather the "step" counter from the watch was loaded as the qualifying "event"
  4. Also felt that CWC cycles were not as prominant as previous years.. hmm is that a 2020 question or 2021?
  5. For me the sweet spot is 45-50km distance
  6. On the 30km there were also a larger number of ebikes as part of the field, and actually still wanted to make a comment about it. Seems with that attitute (ie have an ebike you have to make space for me), the levels of agro will continue to increase. of course what will follow is so predicatable as we have seen it a lot of times played out.. The ebikes riders will argue that they get so much abuse from the manual brigade, and they will change their behaviour when the manual brigade stop making fun of them and looking down at them. While the manual brigade will argue that the ebike riders need to change their attitude as they are need to realise the race is primarily meant for the manual brigade and the ebike riders need to be grateful for not having the tires deflated.
  7. Another VERY well organise event by PPA, did the 30km and all went well till I got a sidewall cut 3 km from the end, so was a bit of a bummr, but still give it to the organisers. The route markers were really top notch, tables looked well stocked, and parking was a breeze.
  8. Assume it was the logistics, as they did move to a new venue last year. But it is really sad as it was one of the "different" kind of races in the cape for me
  9. Does anyone know if this race is going to happen in 2020? Missed it last year and would like to have done it in 2020
  10. I understand there is something special in finishing up on Odendal, but really hope they reconsider it, as the front racers going through D' Urbanvale around those circles and and bumps will most likely cause problems.
  11. That is a real shame, how much shorter does that make the route? or are they thinking of adding some around Perdeberg to make it a bit longer?
  12. Anyone know if there has been an update on this?
  13. So of those that finished: 97km: 1072 71km: 273 (winners average 34km/h) 46km: 148
  14. Was a fast race, see the winners finished on 42 average (2:16) around the course
  15. We arrived for an early start so could not comment on the later groups but it was very well organised (one of the benefits of a race that limit the number of entries to what they can handle and sufficient marshalls at the parking area
  16. Kudos to the organisers, from what I experienced it was very well organised with friendly marshalls and waterpoints. Second year in a row we have done it and a race I will be supporting next year again if possible
  17. Saw you 3 shoot past us on that road out wellington.. speeding bullets
  18. Being one of the slow pokes in the TL group, I might not be arguing you to much, hooopefully we will reach the R44 before you guys come wizzing past us
  19. TL is at 6am ????
  20. Seedings are out, just received the email
  21. Not wanting to jinx it, but the weather forecast looks like the opposite to that of the SCT
  22. Must say it is a nice feeling to seeing an event being "sold out" again, especially a road race
  23. Signed up the family, lets hope for a good ride / race
  24. Maybe as part of the Bikehub review the year they should have a category for the oldest threads that was resurrected (with at least 10 comments to indicated it was properly revived)
  25. Think it is a local themed cruise, and after they have boarded I don't think they allow you to disembark again. And can just imagine it is not that much fun on the pool deck
