  1. This'll only be funny until this prat takes you out while you're cycling. If his tyres are made of garden hose, what do you think his brakes are made of? This F@kker should be locked up. If he hasn't killed anybody yet, its not for lack of trying...
  2. I hate Twilight: New Moon! But my current favourite song is from the soundtrack: Roslyn - Bon Iver & St Vincent
  3. I've had my pair of Rudy's (rydon's with impactx photochromic lenses) for about a year now. They have been properly abused as any pair of good mountain biker shades should be. I am glad to say that they do not have a scratch on them! They do fog up a bit when you stand still but that should just motivate you to get going again. I love my Rudy's and have been recommending them to anybody who cares to listen. P.S. The Rudy lenses are not covered like the oakley's, so I'm pretty sure they won't peel no matter how much you sweat.
  4. When I first started, I bought a camel back - sommer a cheap one from Sportsman's warehouse. It worked fine, but I soon began feeling encumbered by the 3 kilograms of water I was carrying on my back. I fitted a second water bottle carrier and started using bottles instead. I haven't used my camelback since. I am not the fastest m'biker in the world and I still struggle a little when taking the bottles out of the carrier, but it is much less of a hassle than the camel back. besides, sometimes I use it as an excuse to stop and catch my breath
  5. This idiot ( https://www.bikehub.co.za/member_profile.asp?PF=11080) just spammed me on the hub! He are wanting to get to knowing me better before giving me $6 million (his words)
  6. I can recommend these! I have a pair of rudy's with impact x photochromic lenses and they are absolutely fantastic! They don't fog, move or do anything funny. I will never buy anything else, ever.
  7. I can't believe some of the comments here! Comments like "I don't care what he got up to in his personal life..." Sorry, but what absolute K@K!! Michael Jakson was a monster. A sexual predator. The only reason he did not see his end of days in jail, is because he had enough money to pay people to either keep quiet, grow amnesia or lie on his behalf. Children everywhere will be sleeping a little safer tonight and as a parent, so will I.
  8. I never said cyclists don't belong on the road. They should just know their place. Cars are hard and fast and cyclists are soft and squishy. In a tangle, which one would you like to be?
  9. Oh they're here alright! They are just clever enough to keep a low profile when they are obviously in the wrong. I must say, I have little to no respect for roadies, purely based on a small number of jackasses who think they are God's gift to the planet purely because they have mastered a skill most 3 year olds possess.
  10. In that case, I probably wasn't talking to you. Now stop acting like a roadie, get your pellet gun and go shoot somebody!
  11. You roadies are Wussies! We MTB'rs pay people to line the single tracks and take shots at us with pellet guns. Sometimes, after a heavy week at work, I actually prefer rubber bullets - now those pack a real punch!
  12. It still won't stop them though. They could simply register with bogus credentials and carry on ripping people off. What may be safer is to introduce a confidence rating based on some criteria such as Hub status or CSA Licence no, or suchlike, and then the seller will either take his chance trying to sell on The Hub with a low rating, or be forced to sell it on another website like Gumtree. The purchaser will have a measure of confidence in dealing with the seller. It's not perfect, but reduces the occurence of this happening. I realise this may make transactions a bit more long-winded, but in this day and age it's better to be safer than lose your dosh. Why not have a verification system similar to the one on bidorbuy? Each person gets "verified" by having R1 charged against a credit card. In order to do the credit card transaction, the hubber would have to supply a lot of personal details which can be verified against his banking details. Verification is optional, but then again, so is doing business with an unverified hubber. It is easy to turn a check into rubber, not so easy with a credit card.
  13. Knocked up - Kings of Leon
  14. Interesting analysis Slave. As you said, a little symplistic, but still theoretically sound. I don't quite understand why we have been seeing such a steady upward trend in the oil price. Generally this happens leading into the US and European winters, not this time of year. This could be an indication that some of the bigger users such as manufacturing concerns and mines have begun increasing usage volumes again, which could mean that at least some sectors are beginning to recover. Could the oil price be a barometer indicating that the global recession has hit bottom? I sure hope so!
  15. Anybody watch the MiWay MTB show this weekend? About halfway through they show one of the leaders in the race (I think it was a mudman) empty out a sachet and just drop it in the veld! That dude should have his prize stripped.
  16. I'll try it. They build big rugby players in the free state - so it can't be too bad...
