  5. Awesome! Anyone else? Onetime, we need to chat about DC sometime. Havent got time to start a chat about it now though. Maybe you want to pick it up?
  6. Have you guys contacted Ben yet?
  7. Now thats what I like to hear. You have to make a sacrifice for a few weeks to only do the training he gives you. But if you really put everything into it it will make you much stronger. Woofie2009-06-02 11:25:07
  8. I do very little. Onetime you are more than strong enough for this. Why dont you give it a try. Come on, I otherwise I am going to have to phone you again.........
  9. Then you are most probably fit enough. Drop Ben a email. If he doesnt think you are fit enough he wont use you. They make you do a TT and a PPO the first week as test runs. If you are really not performing then he will tell you. You have nothing to loose and you gain quite a bit because you get free Vo2 tests, lab TT and two PPO tests. Go for it. Surprise yourself.
  10. I dont know. One layer of insulation tape never even got eaten away so why try something meaner? Give it a try see if it works for you. OH yes! The only downside is that it leaves your tyre a bit sticky, but a few minutes on the road and it is all forgotten. Woofie2009-06-02 10:49:12
  11. How much cycling you doing?
  12. Come on guys. Ben has been posting this for ages now. Dont you guys want a challenge?
  13. I discovered something quite interesting the other day. I put a piece of insulation tape around my back wheel. After an hour of training the insulation tape was a polished silver colour, but it had not worn through to the tyre. I hate using my trainer indoors because small fragments of rubber rub off into like a fine dust and it is flipping hard to clean it up. But with the tape it worked hundreds and if you pump your tyre to 8 bars and then tighten the trainer properly you dont get the wheel slipping. Give it a try, lets see if anyone else has luck
  14. How much for the couches?

  21. Ive been cleaning my MTB with water, sand and dust. Feel like crying when I think about it, but I have so so little time on my hands. When I do have some spare time it is a choice between Riding, cleaning my garage, car, bikes, house. Riding normally seems to win. The one thing I do try to look after is my drivechain though. I will always look at my chain and gears if it looks a bit shabby, I clean it then relube it. Once in a while i will clean them or get them serviced. They look brand new then. Until the next ride that is. Even my road bike looks terrible after just one or two rides. Does everyone find this to be the case?
  22. Will be darkish and? have a nightrider light that I bought at Lifecycle Parklands for just over R 100.00. See you later I have one one those knightrider lights. They are really awesome. For the amount of R you have spent you get alot of light. I can ride in the pitch dark at koeberg or on the road with it. I wont attempt to use it for single track though! The batteries last forever as well. aahh. I wish I could make tonight. What a bummer.
  23. I also saw this website article some time back. I didnt follow the guide though my bike was already converted for tubeless. I went and bought some liquid latex and I have some in my tires now. Still waiting to get a puncture to see what happens. It will probably all spray over me. I suppose thats one way to make a man sized condom
  24. It is good training. But try to use a HR monitor if you can. In that way you can follow the class, but you will be able to monitor how hard you are actually working. In spinning classes, I really really struggle to lift my HR very high. The highest I have ever managed to get at gym was 185 I think. But out on the road I got my HR to 200 in a sprint. Normally in a spinning class I will normally struggle to get above 165 but on the road I am comfortable above 170+ Very weird how it works! You can also do two spinning classes back to back if you need some more T I T S
