  1. Hi Scott, Remember to check for cracks/damage where the cycle has been incorrectly fastened to a carrier. Possibly not the usual place to check. Regards Sarge
  2. Hi All, I agree with Scotty, the real problem is the owner who allowes his "pet" free access to the street. They should be fined R5000 every time their dog is found outside of their property. Anybody who cannot look after his dog does not deserve one. Regards Sarge
  3. Hi, And the debate rages on. Just wear what is comfortable but make sure that they are optically correct. Regards Sarge
  4. Morning gents, There will be good events and bad events. The bad ones will not be supported for too long and will fall by the way side leaving the races where the hosts have done their homework. Regards Sarge
  5. Hi Gents, Yes you are all correct. We take good commentry for granted, or with Phil we are just plain spoilt. Regards Sarge
  6. Hi, Unlike on the road, take time out to enjoy the view and enjoy the people on you will meet in the dirt. Regards Sarge
  7. Hi all, I feel for you gents that seemily just have to put up with all this $#!+ in the city. Us "plaasies" appear to have things a lot easier in the smaller towns. Regards Sarge
  8. Hi Merida, It makes me mad as well. Looks as if you just bend over and get screwed whether you like it or not. 72 big ones is a lot of money. Regards Sarge
  9. Hi, Rough decisions like this should not exist. Lighten your load and give it to a good friend and let him worry. Regards Sarge
  10. Hi Gents, I was just about to log off, but might just stick aroung for a short while. This could be interesting. Regards Sarge
  11. Hi, Cycling is the only sport where participants are killed or maimed on a daily basis and nothing is done about it. Is it just the nature of the sport or the attitude of the people that we share our space with? What can we do to improve things for ourselves, apart from going off road. If it was soccer, rugby or any other sport there would be a national inquiry to look into the problem. I do not think the people in power realy care!! Regards Sarge
  12. Hi all, Pehaps we have to get together and litter, break, burn and cause total destruction of anything that does not belong to us in order to get the message across that we are not happy with the situation. If you cant fight them, join them. So sad Sarge
  13. Hi, More bad news on our roads. Realy sad. RIP. Regards Sarge
  14. Hi Vaste, Please be very carefull how you transport your bike. Saw one yesterday that had been transported from KwaZulu Natal down to the Cape. It is a carbon Raleigh and the frame has been badly damaged. If it was me and I could afford it I would buy a hard case to transport my bike. Good luck Sarge
  15. Hi gents, Being a consumer is an invitation to get ripped off. It makes me mad. Regards Sarge
  16. Hi all, I have just read through 10 pages of "for and against" LA. Well done to all of you, and I love the passion that you have for the topic. Regards Sarge
  17. Hi, We must take all the precautions that we can to avoid an accident, but regardless how carefull we can be in some sports things go wrong. Let's just hope that the dude is ok and can go back to enjoying what he was doing, Regards Sarge
  18. Hi Gents, The cheaper option is the specified item on general household policy. I pay +/- R80.00 for 30k on a road bike. I have been assured that this is for any loss or damage at any time ( same as comp car insurance). Regards Sarge
  19. Hi All, The advantage of being in a "dorp" is that I can get up at 04:30, have coffee, ride +/- 35k and then still walk to work and be there by 07:30. I also do not have to worry about traffic. Only had 1 vehicle pass this morning on the training route. Have a great day Sarge
