As a sidenote - I believe that with the a firmware update from end of last year the Kickr Core and Kickr both broadcast cadence - which further narrows the difference between the models. No Brainer to go with the Core unless you have $$$ to spend!

I am in exactly the same boat as you although I wasn't fortunate enough to secure Pre-Lockdown prices... Getting helluva anxious about losing fitness - it's been tough going from 11 hours a week on the bike to just body weight exercises at home...

I have had a very expensive Virgin Action membership running for a while now and have primarily used the Wattbikes to do some structured training sessions. I don't see Gym/Studio's opening again from 1 May the way things are going... So decided to pull the triggerm order a Kickr Core. Will be canning my Virgin membership to save some moolah going forward... Would rather have the option within my control than rely on my access to gym to get structured training done... So out of your options - I would pick up something post-lockdown - you don't know how long it will take for you studio to open up again and who knows... We might be faced with another lockdown in a couple of months...

I have been chatting to a bike shop owner throughout the lockdown - he buys his stock directly from the distributor of a certain indoor trainer brand. Two weeks into lockdown the distributor quoted us RXXX the week before Easter weekend - the stock was 'sitting in Durban harbour' so all sorted and delivery would be able to be made post Lockdown. Surprise surprise (forgive me being skeptical here) the distributor comes back and informs us that the prices have all gone up 20-25%. I am in Asset Management so I have no idea how these things work - in my mind when you place an order you pay upfront for that order of say 300 units, so the price of the goods can't jump 20-25% while the container is on the water. Since I imagine that VAT & duties are charged on the purchase price surely these duties haven't gone up over lockdown? Maybe an experienced Hubber with some insight into Import/Export can shed some light?

This is what I have done - planning on swapping out my XX1 Chain after 1000km and then popping on a GX Chain to do another 1000km...

I was one of a small handful of Savages who started in A Batch. After missing out on One Tonner last year and Paarl being relatively 'easy' from a seeding point of view this was going to be the last stab at an improved start group for Argus. The group rode relatively conservatively from the start, don't get me wrong - the pace was high and guys were sending it, especially on the downhills but there was without a doubt some reserves being kept for Vissershok. Managed to crest that precipitous climb with the front of A... A short soiree through back through the Burbs, but by the time we arrived back on the R312 a couple of guys decided it was time to open up the taps and drop some rockets... The group dwindled to around 5 or 6 guys and by the time we arrived at the R44, examining the Strava segments my heart rate had been 176 for 25 kilometers.. Herman, the guy in the purple/pink Ciovita gear and the $ guy in Absolute Motion gear sorry I couldn't do more turns but by that stage I was so deep in the red zone I should have been hospitalized. We caught the back group of % on the R44 just before the Vryguns turn - a couple of fellow Savages were also in this group. The pace eased off slightly, athough the aforementioned gentleman above were playing a strategic cat & mouse game off the front on most of the rollers - stretching the field out in order shed some more members off the bus... At around the 5-6km to go mark a couple of guys really kicked again and by this stage I was more than happy to not respond... Was not expecting the last usual 99r climb up Odendaal which was absolutely harrowing and I crawled over the line for a 7th in A Batch and a small bump in my seeding! Quick beer and then headed back out to fetch the Mrs who was also riding. Good day out, thanks to the organisers and congratulations everyone on finishing

I forgot to mention about the crash... Nothing like your life flashing in front of your eyes right at the end of a hard ride like that... From the chatter afterwards it seems like each batch had a crash of some sort, and the majority were along the (relatively) straight R101... White Line Fever

I took my chances riding in C Batch, as the solo lone Savage with the rest crew dispersed between A & E Batches. Tough ride, tried to do as much work as possible and judging from the times & Fly By's we pretty much ended up with the exactly the same pace as B Batch, so for those poor souls who also helped drive the pace off the front of C Batch well done! Unfortunately not enough to bump me up to B Batch as my weighting is is now 20.02 so alas, but 99er to come this weekend

I have only heard good things about the Salts from Reon - guy backs up his products. Give him a shout and see what he can do for you. Definitely falls within your price range.

Also got an SMS now - rode in the & Group at Argus and finished middle of that pack - I'll be starting in % tomorrow but my PPA Seeding says I am now in C Batch...

Entered this, got a confirmation of the payment. Apparently registration starts today and haven't received an SMS or email confirmation letting me know where/when to register or what time I am starting - unless I am missing something of course?
