  1. There's going to be some fireworks... If Sportsman's are delivering trainers and all cycling related equipment there are suppliers stuck with paying warehousing costs as they cannot move their inventory... A lot of the 'rules' are left up to interpretation during these times...
  2. I believe the justification Minister Patel has used is that that opening up E-Commerce would be "unfair" (https://techcentral.co.za/allowing-unfettered-e-commerce-would-be-seen-as-unfair- patel/97636/) - of course, if some SMME's are failing them let's ensure they all go down together...
  3. Looking at the notice on their website this morning there are going to be a lot of unhappy people who were hoping their orders would start trickling through... Sorry everyone
  4. They are legit - excellent service and personal touch if you pop them a mail with specific requests.
  5. With the deals currently going on the Specialized EVO’s at the moment I would go that route...
  6. Noted that both Tafelberg and Signal Hill roads were closed to cars, cyclists & runners alike which was disappointing since these are the two longest stretches of road well within my 5km radius. Seems like the argument is that these roads essentially form part of the Table Mountain National Park but maybe someone with some legal background can clarify? I can understand them stopping cars but if you are on your bike or on foot doesn’t seem unreasonable...
  7. So, after some of the clarifications last night any idea on whether these lockdown IDT's will be able to be delivered?
  8. This is a question all those waiting for IDT deliveries also want to know the answer to...
  9. People waiting for confirmation on whether their IDT's will be able to delivered from Friday...
  10. Still unclear whether any of these trainers ordered during Stage 5 Lockdown will be delivered from 1 May from the briefing this morning - looks like it might still be a while...
  11. They given you any indication yet on when they can deliver or as much in the dark as everyone else?
  12. Thanks Christian, I have a friend who is waiting on some of your stock and he is desperate for his Kickr... Apart from his sanity, I hope that you guys can start moving some stuff around for the health of the business
  13. A friend of mine serves on a the Exco of a Large E-Commerce retailer and he mentioned that they have pleaded up to the highest level to have E-Commerce pushed up the list but at this point to no avail... Since I would love to order some stuff online, I am personally keen to have E-Commerce kicking off again but seriously, in light of getting the economy going and surely this is one of the less risky one's from a transmission point of view...
  14. Maybe Christian or another supplier can shed some light on where their business stands given the President’s speech - will they even be able to operate?
  15. As a sidenote - I believe that with the a firmware update from end of last year the Kickr Core and Kickr both broadcast cadence - which further narrows the difference between the models. No Brainer to go with the Core unless you have $$$ to spend!
  16. I am in exactly the same boat as you although I wasn't fortunate enough to secure Pre-Lockdown prices... Getting helluva anxious about losing fitness - it's been tough going from 11 hours a week on the bike to just body weight exercises at home...
  17. Thanks Christian, This provides some good context - kudo's to you and the team and all the best for the months ahead as you guys navigate the waters!
  18. I have had a very expensive Virgin Action membership running for a while now and have primarily used the Wattbikes to do some structured training sessions. I don't see Gym/Studio's opening again from 1 May the way things are going... So decided to pull the triggerm order a Kickr Core. Will be canning my Virgin membership to save some moolah going forward... Would rather have the option within my control than rely on my access to gym to get structured training done... So out of your options - I would pick up something post-lockdown - you don't know how long it will take for you studio to open up again and who knows... We might be faced with another lockdown in a couple of months...
  19. I have been chatting to a bike shop owner throughout the lockdown - he buys his stock directly from the distributor of a certain indoor trainer brand. Two weeks into lockdown the distributor quoted us RXXX the week before Easter weekend - the stock was 'sitting in Durban harbour' so all sorted and delivery would be able to be made post Lockdown. Surprise surprise (forgive me being skeptical here) the distributor comes back and informs us that the prices have all gone up 20-25%. I am in Asset Management so I have no idea how these things work - in my mind when you place an order you pay upfront for that order of say 300 units, so the price of the goods can't jump 20-25% while the container is on the water. Since I imagine that VAT & duties are charged on the purchase price surely these duties haven't gone up over lockdown? Maybe an experienced Hubber with some insight into Import/Export can shed some light?

  21. Any chance you guys could do something on the 105 Cassette please? https://www.evobikes.co.za/components/cassettes/shimano-105-cs-r7000-11-speed-cassette-11-28t.html
  22. Are you waiting for a delivery Tiger?
  23. Reading some of these Race Reports has inspired me to concoct something of my own although I don't think I'll be able to compete with any these budding Hemingway's on the Hub... This was my second CTCT start in the & Group and after losing the front of the group at the top of the Smits last year I was determined to hold on a little longer. After an emergency Physio session on Friday morning to release a tight lower back and friends staying with us (queue multiple nights of drinking) the build up wasn't exactly what you would call 'ideal'... Start was quick paced with a couple of other Savages remarking how much better it was doing this the first stretch without a block headwind... Although this seemed to encourage a couple to push the pace up paced as we crested the top of Edinburgh Drive more than 2 minutes quicker than 2019. The section along Ladies Mile was quick, with Several Savages driving a pace off the front. Feeling good I decided to have a couple of turns myself but would only later realize I was way out of my depth... There was a brief breakaway after Muizenberg but the pack soon hauled them in. My logic was to stay near the front to avoid any troubles on the narrow roads through Kalk Back Bay, Fish Hoek and Simons Town. I was still feeling good and contributed a couple more turns before Smits and then decided to slink quietly back into the pack where I actually belong... The Climb up Smits was brisk but not a deal breaker, arriving at the top the majority of the group was in tact with the fast descent to follow... As we descended the crash occurred about 20m ahead of me and Nutty (hope you healing up okay Bud) went down along with others... I veered off the road to the right and did a cheeky 20m in the long grass... Somehow managing to stay upright and taking some of the undergrowth with me I emerged back on the road and sprinted to catch the back of the group. And adrenaline rush of note. I would not recommend gravel grinding on 25mm tires at 50km/h. The remaining sections were fairly uneventful, I held on until we caught some @ riders in Noordhoek before the big kick happened on Chappies... I exploded quietly (tried to consolidate losses however the damage was done, my heroics off the front earlier had come back to bite me and Suikerbossie and the rest were a real slog... I snuck in with a PB of 2H50 which was well within my 3H00 goal. Initially my inner critic kicked in about being dropped but a friend, who entered at the last minute with ZERO training and had never ridden on a road bike before (we found him one a day before) put it in perspective when he pointed out that doing this ride is a real privilege, and that we should be grateful to be able to take part in something like this. That put things into perspective for me. Thank you for the great day out everyone and for those who were not as fortunate to avoid the crashes, heal up soon
  24. Okay I will have a go... Blue = 2018 Orange = 2019 Grey = 2020
